After a trip to terminal velocity and back, possibly several of them on reflection, and 3 months impersonating a highland Salmon, my once cherished D300 is back in my hands!

Full story here.

Even the Lowepro TLZ it was in is a write-off!

Take heed, This is what happens when upsetting the wife....

The lens is completely stuck in every respect of the word, it won't come off, zoom or focus!

The whole camera is evidently full of grit and pebbles by the sounds of it.

At least I got my quick release plate back though. Unfortunately I threw out the unbranded tripod it mates with.

Even the battery, the one bastion of hope, is buggered! The pins have been internalised by an impact, had to pull it out with the aid of a bench vice and some mole grips!

so the weather seals are not all they are cracked up to be then

That's an awsome story! Read both threads. I'm quite looking forward to seeing some pictures now! :)

yay :D

'in this game, if you don't destroy a camera every now and again, you're probably doing something wrong' :D

interchangeable backs...great idea

So Nikons don't break, or do they?! :nono:

he dropped a 1D4 as well... there were waaay too many pieces for them to pick up though ;)

You could always PX/sell/trade it with 'Filter Fantastic' (or whatever they are called these days).

They would sell this to you, and describe it as 'near mint' :D

OUCH !! At least it was the camera that suffered not YOU and on the brighter side you had an excuse to buy the Stunning D700 !!

What are you planning on doing with??

Would be kind of fun taking it apart and playing with it :)
