Is it just me or does it seem that loads of people on here have recently bought a D200 or what!?

Anyhow, i'll jump on the band wagon and let you all that mine came today, it was sent special delivery and insured for £500 so needed a signature upon collection. Unfortunately nobody was home but Mr Postie still decided to leave it on the doorstep! The window cleaners have also been today and must have walked right past it. Surley that is a little risky for Mr Postie just to leave an insured package without a signature on a doorstep?

All seems good so far, I payed £522 for it second hand and is in mint, immaculate, as new condition! I couldnt believe how little it has been used, even the strap was still sealed in the packaging :)

The only downer is..... I didnt realise it took CF cards and not SD cards so that basically means I can use it yet  I was going to buy an Extreme III 4gb from play.com for £22.99 but it says they are out of stock at the mo, does anyone know where else I can get one from? At last the 50mm f/1.8 will autofocus unlike when it was used with the D40!

Righty then, i'm off to bury my head in the manual again :gag:

Yup, I got my 4GB ExIII from Play, a day before they went out of stock!! (sorry;))

My brother popped in before he went offshore, and gave me his Tokina 19-35mm, and the Sigma 28-75mm f/2.8 he dropped in Australia last year. Anyways, I took the lens mount off the Sigma, stripped it down, found the loose screws, reassembled it, and now have perfectly working lens:woot: Saves me some money when I go on a lens-buying spree at the end of the month!!

As for the settings, I started off with the D200 spreadsheet from Nikonians - it seems a very reasonable starting point...

Try www.crucial.com/uk - 4gb CF cards for £30. A gig is a tenner

Next day delivery - great service. I've used them for years now and they've never let me down. The standard cardss may not be the fastest in the world but they're good for all-round landscape work and general shooting.

Congratulations!!!! I am buying my upgrade ion June... very excited (5D)
You can try 7dayshop... they are fantastic for bargains :)
