Been working on this for a few weeks now... May look simple (and it is really), but sourcing parts were quite tricky and finding what to use and so on was even trickier.
Basically, it's mount to hold the camera still at the end of the pole. This allows you to push (or drive) the car whilst taking a photo. This produces pictures like these:
I'm yet to receive my Manfrotto Magic Arm and Manfrotto Super Clamp which clamps to the end of the pole, and allows you to adjust the camera into any position/angle you want. Once this arrives (hopefully Tuesday) it'll be ready to test and I'll have some sample pictures for you.
The pole is 3m long, this is being cut at 2m so I have 2m pole and a 1m pole:
This is at 10mm zoom, and I'm holding the camera near the end of the pole. I'll be able to go further back if needed:
As you an see in the background, I have another two poles that are 1m each. This means I can adjust it on-the-go it to 1m long, 2m long or 3m long. I kept the 2m pole so we can extend to 3m long with only one join to keep it stiff:
The suction mounts an also be adjusted on-the-go, and hold perfectly:
It's quite 'bouncy' at 3m but hopefully the camera will weigh it down and it'll be more secure. You only have to push the car at a walking speed to get the above effect if you have a long enough shutter speed.
Obviously the 'rig' will be in the photo, which means you have to Photoshop it out -- annoying, but no-way around it. It's the same methods you see in magazine shoots.
I can't wait to try it out!

A great example of seeing an idea you like and running with it
