Hi everyone,

I have a MY Canon FD L series 20-35mm lens and it needs cleaning. There are a few spots inside the lens. I don't think it's fungus more like mildew?

Is it worth cleaning? Can I do it myself? or get it professionally cleaned?

Here's a pic....

@sskunky if you want to get that cleaned properly, then I would recommend using Miles Whitehead for the job. He services/repairs just about everything photography related, and at a very high standard for a much more reasonable price compared to most of his competitors (He quoted for, and serviced my 1973 Pentax Spotmatic F for £40 compared to everybody else offering quotes ranging from £60 - £100, and the servicing was of very high quality). A lot of us in the film section have had cameras/lenses etc serviced by him, and to my knowledge he has yet to let any of us down.

Send him an email asking for a quote: http://www.mwcamerarepairs.co.uk/

Hi,

Many thanks.
I have indeed contacted Mike as read in another thread great things about him he has said he'll look at it for me and it should be in the region of £60. Which is great.
Thanks again!
