My canon 580ex II is acting up.

Hey guys.

Ok since i'm not too experienced in the flash department i'm not so sure if it's something i'm doing wrong or if the flash is actually damaged.

Here's the issue. When i'm taking shots using the flash ETTL mode i get about two shots with perfect light and from there on the flash jumps to TTL mode and gives out a massive burst of light which causes my images to come out very over exposed.

What's going on here? When it jumps to TTL i can't seem to get it back to ETTL, at the moment i'm stuck using manual mode.

Hi

Is the flash on camera, on cord or off camera? Just trying to rule out any comms issues.

The modes on my flash are ETTL, Manual and Multi - never seen 'TTL' before:shrug:

quick check of the contacts on the flash foot and the hotshoe in case its confuddled there
