Four years together at that time was pretty good, and amazing to have a chance to support Cream. :)

yes thanks Toni,we were all good mates before we formed the band so probably made it easier.

Hey Chris ... nice photo, all well stoned. (y)

Great memory there. do you ever get back together for a jam?

Hi Nick, thanks for that, unfortunately 2 of the guys have past but myself and the other guitarist sometimes get together with the acoustics.

Are you a band member?

Ah I'm sorry to hear that. No unfortunately not. I did quite a bit of singing at school and after till I was about 19. Then life got in the way. Funnily enough, I'm exploring it again at the moment. I have the bug again. My kids may disagree though!!

Wow, amazing! Supporting Cream and playing with them must have been great! Arguable the best time ever for music too.

I did try to take up guitar but not very musical! Small claim to fame is that my mums cousin was in a band called the Action who had a decent following in the 60s, and were produced by George Martin!

Yes it was a great time ,just loved the music being written then,we used to support Jimmy James and the vagabonds a lot and also once a band called the Fantastics, something old something new was there hit

A lot of us teenager rock guitarists are still trying to get out of our now rather creaky old bodies! :D
I wish I had played in my teens. Didn't start until I was 40. Sadly that was 20-yrs ago!

Great tone & technique. I've never done the finger picking jazz thing, and wonder if it's a part of getting older.

I think so but also looking for more challenging things to play in an idiom that appeals to oneself, eg i couldn't be bothered with learning tapping or Yagnie malsteem style for example.but this laid back melodic semi jazz type stuff I love to hear and play to the degree my technique allows :)

I thought he was about to start playing "I'm so glad". :)

Acoustically my Suzuki dread still works well most of the time (had it since the early 80s) but I bought a Tanglewood folk sized job on ebay for £75 before christmas for slide work, & it projects really well for that. Could never imaging spending that kind of money on an acoustic though.

I had a classical Suzuki way back a very nice instrument.I get what your saying re the money but I have always loved the Gibbo acoustics even though they are overpriced ,you either love em or hate em :) and I love em.
My first electric was an Egmond filled by a 335 style Framus with a tree bar then in '65 I got my Pre CBS '64 blond Fender Tele.i loved that although because The Who were my fav band i modelled my playing on Pete Townshend at the time and wanted a Rick but they were £160 and the Tele was £123 so i got that :)

Since we were talking about first *good* guitars, when I was 18 and had chosen my first decent amp (used AC30 from Rockbottom in Croydon) I went back the following week to try 2 guitars: a '72 (IIRC) blond Tele and a Danelectro guitarlin copy made by Dynelectron. The Dano copy was wonderfully easy to play and the Tele was slightly hard work, so you can guess which I walked out with. :( Having said that, the one I bought did help me really develop as a lead player, and I might never have done so if I'd bought the Tele instead - plus I still have it nearly 40 years on.

I don't have any early band pics (or many band pics of any era at all really).

Interesting journey,i liked the look of the Danelectros but never tried one ,i have a couple of other pics but wish we had taken more but not something we thought about back then

My first good guitar is a late 90's Fender CIJ 50's Re-issue Strat. Sometimes it's my favourite guitar.

yes there is always one that feels just right, the Bird in my case.I have had quite a few Strats but i have just a squire now but it has been setup lovely and for home use the pickups are just fine,
