When I joined TP I had only had a digital camera for a few months and I really thought I could make it as a professional photographer :lol: Well, those ideas were quickly dispelled but I did realise that I wanted to become a good photographer, at least take a few images friends and family wouldn't mind putting on the wall. Photography is the only thing I've ever done that I am reasonably good at and that is in no small part down to the good folk on TP who have encouraged, guided, taught and took the pee until I know one end of a camera from the other, thanks everyone.

When I decided to give film another go this was the obvious place to come for advice and wow! such good advice as well. The generosity of people has kept me coming back and I have definitely made new friends in this little club, some I've met and some are still cyber-buddies but I hope someday we can all get together and get daft drunk. :beer:

Anyway just a big thank you to everyone on TP, the guys who run it, the mods and everyone who contributes, long may it continue.:thumbs:

Right, Roberts is here with my scotch, chocolate and a copy of the Financial Times (which I shall pretend to read whilst watching the Doctor Who special).

I'm with you on the generosity, kindness and always willing to help folk in this little section... it's the best.... Congrats on 9000 but you now have to share the chocolate, (you can keep the scotch):D
 
Congrats Andy, this small fusty section of TP wouldn't be the same without you.

Now would you mind giving Roberts a nudge, I've been ringing the blasted bell for the last 5 minutes and I'm damn thirsty :beer:

we gots a noob girl thread that reads like some oof t***ter/faceache luv-in, 40,000 identical scanner threads and two big gobs bragging about the sheer scale of the dribble they manage to visit on us without gettin banned.

I'm beginning to regret voting against the creation of the boring old fart forum....

Good post Andy - always nice to look back and say thanks.

Forums are funny places.

I'm over 100K on one yet 10 years on another with less than 500.

TP - I wouldn't have a clue how many posts I have LOL - but it always seems about right for me.

9,000 posts... that's an awful lot of time waiting for the neg's to dry filled isn't it...

I dread to think how many mine would be up to if posts in the staff dungeon had been counted as well on the old forum...

I am actually a cowboy photographer...not that I only take photos of cowboys, I mean that I'm a photographer who's a cowboy or summink.....:thinking:

Yes, I'm afraid you did and it was great. Roberts baked a small cake and we had extra moustache wax on every table.
