Went to betws-y-coed last week on a holiday with the family. Went for a little wander around the other side of the waterfall to get a shot and on the way back I fell in the bloody river, totally submerged myself and half my 7d in my camera bag too, got up and fell in again.

Amazingly the camera was perfectly fine! here's the shot I got

I bet that was a sight, you falling in twice!
Fantastic shot, really love the effect on the water! What was the shutter speed to achieve this?

yeah, luckily nobody saw it as I was hidden from view, since most sensible people just stay on the rocks.

The shot is a combination of about 7 different shutters, ranging from 1/4 to 15 seconds using a CP filter and an ND8 at f20

Good luck trying to sell the camera in the classifieds, if you ever do.. :D

lol, I don't think I'll have any issues, the body barely got wet, seems like the bag absorbed most of the water. as well as 2/3rds of my body!!!:lol:

A lesson to you all - always put your camera back in its bag when moving from one place to another!

This thread takes away about £200 from your cameras value . :D

you should really send it in for a service. if any water did get in, it will slowly corrode the pcbs.

I'll save you the trouble trying to off load it in classifieds, £200 by bank transfer? :D

You always seem to fall twice when carrying the expensive stuff. Good to hear its all good though.

What bag was it??

I was wearing the lowepro flipside 200 and luckily the way the bag sits on your shoulder is slightly to one side. Thankfully it was the side that was least submerged.

totally no need for a service, we're talking less water on the body than if I had it on a tripod and it were spitting with rain for 10 mins, would you send it in for a service after that?

as for this thread taking away from the camera value, if I did come to sell it I wouldn't have hidden this fact from someone on here anyway, that would be pretty deceitful!

Brilliant. :D

I've been to that exact waterfall spot quite a few times and know it well. I'm quite surprised you managed to get a shot without people eating sandwiches and dogs running rabid in it!

it was a really quiet week, I guess the week after easter is not that popular
