My 5th .........52 photo Special added a bit late

Wasn't sure if I should leave it to later in the week, and see if I had any better idea's, but I think I will go for it .
As it opposites I won't have to tell you that this is Big and small :)

I decided to try without flash and just use natural light, and decided to use Black and white, well the boots were black anyway :).
Sometimes just go with your 1st idea ( or did my o/h come up with the idea :D ),
I took about 20 shots to get the one I liked, perhaps I should of taken more :D.

just caught up with this,

Learning is great as the others have said really shows your need to learn as a parent.

Surprise lovely snow but the cable is a little distracting

opposites is great and makes me giggle :)

Thanks for that, and when I delve into the arts of photoshop or even Gimp, maybe I will be able to remove the wire.
Well it is my plan to learn some photo manipulation, but one step at a time :).
Or I could try to compose the shot better, and to be honest I hadn't really taken account of the overhead wires.

Nice surprise shot - that's quite a bit of snow! The Opposites shot is very good I think B&W was the right choice as the boots are black. Did you try the small boots inside the big pair and decide it didn't work as well? I do like it.

Yes I tried the boots in every combination, and settled for that one, I also thought the black and white looked better, glad you liked it.

Catch up time - 2nd snow shot looks better, whiter :D Nice covering you got there :) and I think it surprised most of us who got hit :D

Love the boots! I would have been tempted to place them toe to toe (opposite each other) to add a second opposite but isn't someone else's hindsight easy :) :D

Lovely shot!

Lovely shot!
Cheers and thats 1 boot layout I didnt think of :D

Very Nice, as one living on the east coast who got pathetically little snow, its nice to be reminded of what it looks like.

I was tempted to take a picture today of the sun and say surprise 'no snow'.

Your boots picture is lovely and although simple its one of those pictures that will speak different things to different people. very clever

Catch up time for me too!

I love the learning shot, and the narrative gives a sense of not only the learning but the responsibility that comes from that too

The Surprise shot (the second one) really fits the bill too (and I only see snow from a great distance on the mountain tops here :D) and it would be a heck of a surprise for me if I saw it in my garden , although I agree about the distracting cable, although I hate to admit the number of times I think I've taken a good shot, got home, uploaded it and then though why didn't I see that blasted cable, signpost or whatever when I took it

As for the Opposites shot, I love it  and the B&W conversion works really well. Well done too for using natural light.

It's so weird how people think the same...I was think of the same thing, then thought of gloves, hands, and feet.

Then ended up doing something completly different.

The shoes work well and it's a shot that crys out for B&W.

Needs just a tad more contrast for me, but still nicely done Michael.

I always try to think of about 5 subjects...work through the ideas to see what works. I usually use the 3rd one for some reason (except for Surprise, I had none )

Just added some contrast, but maybe a bit too much

I think I prefer the first version with lower contrast. The boots look more natural, as though they've been walked in for a few miles and are old friends. The contrasty version looks a bit more like an advert for new shoes, imo. But, it's just personal proference and I'm sure at least as many people will like the contrasty version better. :D

It's a lovely take on opposites and I can imagine you tried loads of 'poses' in the taking of it.:clap:

Running very late, and still have some catching up to do.

I really wanted to do a specials board in a pub or something on those lines, but ended up going for this one.
The plastercast I made myself and the blanket was given to Geoff as something familiar to take into hospital, which isn't too often now.

I think i should of taken it earlier in the day when the sunlight would of been a bit brighter.
Not to impressed myself, especially with the amount of time I have had.

Good interpretation of the theme. Would the prints stand out more with some angled lighting or a different camera angle?

It could definitely do with some more work .

Those sort of things are very special :)

I agree with graulges a different angle might have helped the prints stand out

Don't be so hard on yourself. :) Life happens and sometimes other things have to wait. It's great you're still in this crazy challenge!

As for the picture - I can only agree with the suggestions already made, and share your frustration that the light was going too fast. Seems to happen to me every week - and you'd think I'd learn, but I don't :bonk:

It's a lovely take on the theme and I'm glad the trips to hospital aren't so frequent. I see Geoff's a Christmas baby - that's Special, too. :)
