My 52'ers~ 0-26~2016 part 1

I made it slightly warmer and did away with the empty space. Its a bit grainy now so later I'll pick up the original and start again.

, I think this qualifies for two people making an Effort.
And two on lookers :D

It does sound a lot of effort TBH, I used to run the trailer under the boat while it was still afloat, hitch it at the front, and then use the car to pull the trailer out, C/W boat,
Still a 2 handed job ( although it could be done solo) one to guide the boat while it settled on the trailer, the other to drive the car.

Having said all that, it fits the theme

Thanks Cobra, the summer has ended, most of the boats are up only the fishing boats remain.

Week 14 ~ Technology ~ Signals on the Porthmadog railway track.
Technology.jpg

Interesting take on technology, Shirley, its old but functional :)

It's a shame there is so little of the old signalling about on the Big Railway these days, it's so much more photogenic than coloured lights.
For my taste, I think I'd try adding a bit more contrast / stronger black point, I think it would give you a bit more seperation. But that's just me...

Two excellent interpretations Shirley - like them both but particularly the people reflected in the water in Effort.

Week 15 ~ Horizontal ~ Wires in the sunset, rather hard this one its got to be perfect but rather boring.

Horizontal - really well seen Shirley I really like that, the background colours provide a nice subtle gradation and teh lines are clean and sharp (y)

Simple is best sometimes Shirley - sharp and themed.

I'm liking the crop, certainly adds more focus to the subject, and where better for grainy than a beach

I like that, very simple but very effective, nice warm tones :)

Thanks all three of you, I'm trying very hard to get the theme spot on with a bit of thought.

Week 16 ~ Vast ~ The sky this evening over my house, a typical November sky, chilly.

That is really well taken Shirley for all the reasons Tim mentions. I like cloudscapes - this one has character.

Weeks, 17 Rough,
Taken all these photos which I thought were in order but I was missing Rough which I got to-day and it was really rough out.

Week 18
The ground covered with beautiful autumn leaves,

Week 19 Colourful At the garden centre and it was colourful, lots of lovely decorations for Christmas.

Week 20 Entrance Merry Christmas Step into the winter wonderland.

Well done again Shirley  ... good catch-up. Good choices for the themes, I like best the grey skies and proximity of the buildings to the sea for Rough and the ground cover of autumn leaves for your take on Covered,

Week 21 Size
The Wren is Britains most common breeding bird but its small size means it can easily starve in winter.

Week 22 Forgotton
In the back of the cupboard, forgotton and worthless.
Forgotton.jpg

That's a good if not slightly unusual presentation of a wren - the DoF and lighting are excellent Shirley. As for the old £1 note - worthless as legal tender maybe but on e-bay... who knows?

Hi Shirley,
Rough - It certainly looks that way. Don't be afraid to darken the blacks in shots like this to give it a more ominous feel would be my only comment.
Covered - Spot on theme :) Nice contrasting colours between the autumnal reds and the last remaining green leaves on the trees.
Colourful - Great contrast there. The picture 'booms' at you with vibrant colours. Spot on
Entrance - Another good colourful image. I would have been tempted to up the saturation of the greens a little, just to emphasise them (but that's just me).

Size - Spot on theme, and good use of DoF to separate the wren from the background, yet retaining the foreground and the bird itself {y)
Forgotten - Blimey, not seen one of those in a long while. it looks in fairly good nick, I suspect it'll fetch more that a nugget, so no way is it worthless (unlike 500 & 1000 rupee notes!!!!)
From memory, I believe you've faithfully captured the colour of that note well. :)

Lots more Images since I last look all right on their themes My Favourites are the woodland floor Covered in leaves
and the little Jenny Wren for size (I really like the backround colour of the latter)

I love your little wren Shirley - really well taken and the fronds of bracken really help emphasise just how small it is. I like the way your eye is drawn through the trees on your covered shot, too but I might have cropped a little off the left as the light area there is a bit distracting.

so i'm not the only one with a 1 pound note???? though come on Shirley i'd love to have seen it with a pile of pound coins in the blurred distance..like it was left out of the party?

...the bird... wow.. might not be top notch for the bird ppl...but that close, that detail, i love it.. (y)

Week 23 ~ Stone ~ Farmers used stones like these as gate posts, the holes drilled into this one was for the hinges.

Week 23 ~ A simple leaf
Simple.jpg
Week 25 ~ Sign/s The 30 speed sign sneaked in the side. It looks slightly crooked but I can't get it any better.
Signs.jpg
By hook or by crook this Re-Shoot is the last in Part One
Week 12 ~ Minature was rather blurry, this one a thimble with a lifeboat on.
Minature reshoot.jpg

Good catch up Shirley. all topically on theme :)

You're going a fine job filling in all the gaps in your 52 Shirley :)
Of the 4, I suspect you already know that the leaf is the technically best image, great sharpness with a very OOF background :)
However, I think I prefer the RNLI thimble, I like the contrast of the blue background and the colours on thimble itself.
(y)

Hi Shirley. Another big stride in your bid to catch-up ... must be nearly there. Simple is always best and that one of the leaf is nicely sharp, colourful and good DoF. I like Thimble too.
