My 52 Week 10 and 11 Added

hi all thanks for all the nice comments :)

well this is my version of special..... it was quite hard to think of how to do it and although its not the best merged image it what it contains that is important.

mergepic.jpg

I can't tell if that is one boy at different stages and ages or whether you are lucky enough to have three gorgeous boys.

Either way I can see why these images would be special to you. I like each of the poses in their own right and they look good together.

well done:clap::clap::clap:

its my 3 boys. bailey on left ashton in middle and kayden on the right. and yes i am very lucky to have 3 lovely boys.
thank you for your comments.

My children are the most precious thing in life to me so I can really relate to your "special" image. You have 3 lovely sons and you've captured something very special in your shots

Lovely little lads. Their expressions are great - cheeky grins from the two older ones, and Ashton looks as though he's keeping a careful eye on that camera. :)

They're all making great eye contact and I guess all of us who are lucky enough to have children and grandchildren would put them top of our 'Special' list.

Well done.

Jean

That's a nice set...

They are all lovely...but the little chap on the right is absolutely fabulous...

I think the best of your postings so far....:clap::clap:

You need to get that framed and on the wall :)

Nice looking set of lads and, like all our children, absolutely special :D

Top right needs a tiny clone where the blue has a white line but other than that - nice group of shots :)

cheers all. was really happy with all of these shots and the full versions are much better.
thanks again for all your comments its really appriciated

What a great set of shots and such expression in their faces :clap:

You've really captured the light in their eyes, very well focussed. Excellent interpretation of the theme

well this is my crowd shot. our little cavalier king charles gave birth on valentines night. she gave birth to 4 little ones and all are doing fine and growing well.

this is my 3's a crowd.....not the best i know but it's hard to get them away from mum at the moment and have not got much time to get out and get anything else.

Aaahhh bless, congratulations on your pups, they are lovely colours too.

I can related to furry friends being very difficult to keep still and capture, and is the whole reason for my initially wanting to upgrade to a DSLR.

The picture is nice and clear, would have been nice to see the pupster on the right's foot, but as you said they do not keep still just cos you've got a camera in your hands.:lol:

:clap::clap:

:clap::clap:

I agree with the foot, but it's still a crowd shot which was theme for this week so another one under your belt...

Aww - the cutest crowd I've ever seen!

I know what you mean about them moving around and being difficult to capture but I do think this would be improved by more thought over the composition - like getting the foot in on the right. Problem is I know you'd probably have to just sit and wait for ages for them to be in a good position and we don't all have time to do that!

I love crowds like this. They are soooooo cute.

I agree with all the comments about the hidden paw, but it's just not that easy to get a perfect pose when suckling takes the puppies' total concentrtion and effort.

I bet they've already changed quite a bit and hope to see more of them later. :)

Congratulations to all. :)

Jean

As said, it's a shame about the paw, but... it's not really that much of an issue. Lovely clear shot and it works well and fits the theme nicely

This is a big aww shot :) - Three's a crowd in a good way here :D

Nice shot and another week's image bagged :)

:clap:Nice one, with cuteness factor, covers the theme as well.

Well this really had me thinking...... first thought was money but that was a bit obvious. second thought was the meaning of wealth...
A large amount of anything really money, statistics anything.

so i went for this...... my wife reads loads of books so i thought of ......

A Wealth of Reading Material......

was not allowed to take pictures in our library so ended up taking a pic of a small sample of the wifes collection.

ps thanks for all the nice comments on the other pics and i will try and get some more of the pups in the comming weeks :)

I like the idea and the spin on the word 'Wealth' :) Out of the box is good :D

Good image - as its one I've spent time looking at and thats always good :)

Although as for the reading material itself.....:D thats another debate :D

What a great interpretation, I suspect we are going to see quite a few out of the box shots for this one. I like the way the books on the right start to fall over. However, I'm not sure that the DoF in the image works, the books on the edges need to be sharp or significantly more OOF than they are. Did you deliberately select the aperture to give this DoF or was this accidental (or chosen by the camera)?

as i have no off camera lighting i needed a large aperture so it was kind of a bit of both. needed to tone down the flash and could not get a signifcant angle on the books to creat a larger DoF
and was not upto moving the book case.

A good interpretation of the 'Wealth'. I love reading and can't imagine not having books all over the house! I also find it's easy sometimes to find you've got the same book twice - although in this case, one looks well thumbed and the other looks new! :D

It's difficult to know what else you can do with a pile of books (photographically, I mean :naughty: ) and imo, you've come up with a good idea and used the available light as well as you could. Well done. :)

Jean

Ooh I like you're interpretation! No out of the box thinking for me on this one, finding it hard enough!!

Funny how among all those books it's Jordan's who looks the most read

Hi Wrecker, my turn to catch up :D

What lovely puppies in the Crowd picture, and agree with all the comments made so far

Wealth shot - I know what you mean about moving the furniture :lol: It looks a little soft to me, a bit more contrast or a sharpness boost maybe? But an appropriate take on the theme.

And I must confess to having 5 of those books myself :D

Great interpretation, well done.

We had the same idea here :D. I like it, I think the focus point on the well read book works well. A superb interpretation of the theme

not sure if it's my laptop, but I'm not seeing your latest offering!

sorry guys i broke the link......all fixed now though...

Good interpretation for this week...

Nice to see books to remind us that Knowledge is wealth and just as important...

hi all. bit of a late posting for me this week. have been occupied with college work :shake:

Anyway the reshoot meant i could adjust a few thingswith the opposites pic i took a few weeks ago. i had recently aquired a hot shoe adapter so i borrowed a flash gun and had a play.

this is the finished photo. i think its far better than the first one but comments are always welcome.

Identity......My first thought was the usual stuff, passport, identity cards etc but then decided on this......

A FINGER PRINT.....having an accessory flash to play with is fun so i used this and bounced the light off the ceiling and ended up with this....

fingerprint-crop.jpg

What i have leaned this week.....
1. everything can be made better.
2. the use of a bounce flash makes lighting much easier.
3. using a flash in manual mode makes you work harder for your image
4. flour makes everything more visible.

I like the reshoot of opposites (could also be reflection!) - clever idea and a definate improvement

Not so sure about identity - there is nothing there to hold my interest I'm afraid. Maybe having the finger mid-press onto some contact paper and leaving an imprint of the "identity" behind would give it more of a story.

I like the reshoot for wealth. Might be improved with a cleaner surface and background, but otherwise really good.

The Reshoot is very good, for opposites. It fits reflection and wealth as well.

A good take on the fingerprint idea, it's worked well, and I see what you mean about the flour.

I agree the Opposites is much better - a definite improvement. In fact - a really good execution of a difficult idea.

It sounds as though you've had fun with the flash gun and you've done a very good job of capturing the fingerprint (yours?) for Identity. It's very detailed and another good use of lighting.

I hope you didn't end up with your camera covered in flour, though. :D

Jean

thanks everyone, and no did not get flour on the camera. did have loads of fun with the bounce flash it really does make a difference.
i did however alter the reshoot image and messed about with it using gimp. but i really do like the finished picture. compared to the first one i shot this one is a lot cleaner and the reflection is sharper.also the conversion to b&w i think just gives it a little more........something

thanks again all:thumbs:
