My 52 - Updated *Week 30 - Colour*

Well it is a lovely shot of Simba, but it shows that it wasn't taken intentionally for the theme I'm afraid. If you could see Gucci in the background / left of the shot obsessing over her ball I think the idea would have worked brilliantly but as it is Simba could be looking at and / or thinking about anything.

A lovely looking dog, a pity he has his left shoulder cut off though, fair crit above by daysleeper too.

Its a nice enough snap but its not telling a story.

Its a good shot of Simba, but I have to agree, there doesn't seem to be a lot of longing... Sorry.

No need to be sorry guys. This week's wasn't ever going to be good or even fitting the theme enough, because I never took a shot intentionally for it. However I may very well do the reshoot of this week's task because it really doesn't fit the theme.

Ah I missed your duo shot....and its a corker - brilliant timing on your part and their part and meets the theme (and definition) perfectly! Love it!

Longing - tough when time is short but a lovely portrait of Simba and that lolling tongue certainly says 'longing' to me :)

After last week cracking shot...still can't get over how good that was...

It's not quite there... yes it is a shot you slotted in to fit for this week but it's still a ok shot.

But you can do better....and you got the chance for a re-shoot next week...

It's a lovely shot of a very handsome dog, so I'm prejudiced straight off. :D

I think Daysleeper's hit the nail on the head - it would have been good to see what he was gazing at so we could interpret his look, but then you didn't take the shot with that intention, so there's no reason to have included his pal.

If he's up for rehoming I hope he finds a good one. :)

An excellent shot of another gorjuss doogie, well done. It may not meet the theme as well as some others, but this week was a toughie!!

well done for getting it in!!

As said its a lovely shot but not really fitting the theme this week. That said does it really matter, we are here to improve our photography if you don't make the theme one week so what?

I have done a couple of reshoos but need to see how they've come out when I'm back at home as I'm at a client's house at the moment. I appreciate and agree with everyones comments. :)

I am also finding my ideas or any possible ideas for this weeks task to be challenging, as I keep falling asleep just after it gets dark,[on the sofa] and then take myself off up to sleep properly as it's usually midnight when I wake up.:shake: So fingers crossed I can come up with SOMETHING in time....

Just keep on trying. That's what we all do :gag: especially faced with some themes :bang: Self portrait asleep ???? :D

I'm also struggling with this weeks theme - too tired after work to string a sentence together by the time it gets dark... time for some out of the box ideas methinks!

You know what. I was so close to giving up this week it's unreal. I just absolutley no creativity nor ideas nor brain to do anything, and what I did finally achieve - now I'm home and can't do those small changes that woulda made the shot perfect[was at a client's house] I'm absolutley beggered and wishing I could've.

So, here is my noisy, boring Longing reshoot

And if you REALLY want to, here's a peak some of my other tries for this theme:shake:
Other1
Other2
Other3
And last one

Note the Pizza featured a lot! :suspect:

And this week's Dark *yawn*
y0ha3x.jpg

As you can tell I am uncrative unahppy bunny at the moment

The longing reshoot fits the theme much better, and apart from the noise its a good photo.

TBH i am not sure that what the Dark photo is representing sorry.

I get the feeling your strugling a bit at the moment. so have a big hug from me and remember you can do this and you know the basics :)

Don't give up Shorty or I'll send the gang around :bat: :bat: :bat:

Longing reshoot is noisy but certainly fits the theme without any explanation, and as Ruth says, it's a good photo

Dark - it's hard when creativity deserts you and that happens to al of us at some time. I too nearly gave up this week (or was at least going to miss a week) but then thought of all the help and support I've had doing this and gritted my teeth.

It sounds like you are not at home much and that probably doesn't help.

So have a hug from me too ;)

Unfortunatley I am at home almost all the time, certainly majority of the time. But I was lucky enough to get some work so was away for a week this time round.

I could turn round and say that I'll take a shot tonight, for 'dark' but even though I've seen others interpretations of the theme, I'm still clueless as anything as to what to do :shake:

What that shot was, was the only thing that lit up in the dark living room. Pretty awful - huh?

You're very brave tackiling a reshoot - and I love the one you've gone with - and all the doggy "others", too. A bit of noise doesn't detract at all. And I wonder who got the pizza in the end.

Your 'Dark' meets the theme and I like the cool blue display.

You do sound a bit 'down', but everyone struggles sometimes. It sounds as though you're a bit frustrated at not being able to get what your mind's eye can see - so it's not lack of creativity, just lack of ways and means!

If you even think of giving up I'll send my gang round with Bruja's. :bat::bat::bat: :)

But in the meantime, I'll join the group hug with Toothie and Bruja

No it's not awful! But if you are ever stuck again for inspiration PM me because sometimes we need to bounce ideas off other people. It's easy to think it's my challenge and I have to go it alone but everyone gets inspiration from different sources.

Hi Shorty, I am sorry that you are feeling that your shots are not as good as you would like them to be!!

I however love the reshoot, Westies have a special place in my heart as it was the dog of choice of my grandparents (the bestest people who ever walked the planet IMHO)

The dark shot is fine in its execution, so it is in no way a failure. It is in meeting the theme I feel that is looses some punch. I wonder if an alarm clock with a ridiculous o'clock time on it would give it the tweak it needed.

Keep going, pretty please!

The reshoot is great, and the longing is clearly there, poor little chap.

Dark I quite like, it fits the theme nicely, but just lacks a little something of punch, not that I can talk much :D with the shot I came up with... :D

Re-shoot is a definate success - absolutely fits the theme.

"Dark" was a hideous theme and I'm not sure there is anyone who hasn't struggled this week! It does lack some ooomph but it fits the theme and you are persevering. Don't let it get you down - lets just hope for a more inspiring theme this week!

OOh............, your

,

a little more dof and that would have been a killer shot.

As it is your reshoot is good, the background(couch) is little distracting but its a good shot. I love westies, great characters.

The dark shot, not sure what it need, maybe and ungodly hour instead of an f.m. frequency.

Don't give up, you got not one but two shots in, in a tough week,

Some weeks I stuggle, post something, anything and next week I find somthing I feel prouder of.

Growing is always painful.

Longing Reshoot - Great shot - much better than the original IMO

Dark - Yep I hate getting up in the morning too, but I think it needs a silly o'clock on the display if possible (and perhaps very slightly OOF).

However, having just gone through a couple of uncreative weeks, I know that you will come out the other side, and your Dark Reshoot is showing me that you are starting on the right path.

This is so true because we all get a leg up with a idea from all sorts of places...and if you want PM me anytime...I work very late shifts so don't worry if you don't get a reply straight away....

But don't give up now...:nono:

You are making progress, it's just your not seeing it...:(

I'm sure most people with give you idea's if your really stuck...

you do have friends on here, so use them...

Well at least there's improvment this week[not image wise] in that I had an idea instantly. So thought while I had a spare 5mins I'd get snapping, I may reshoot this before the end of the week and re-enter if I think I can come up with a way to get a more effective shot.

But for now, this is my 'Simple'

oo really like the idea and DoF is really working well.

having read your expernation Dark makes much more sence and i think it was a good idea, tbh i didnt really know what i was looking at.

Yet again a great idea from you shorty, and I'm guessing that making the wordsearch probably took longer than taking the shot.

DoF is excellent, as is the angle of the paper. I found myself rooting around to see if I could come up with some other words in there, but alas I failed :shake:

Well done :clap::clap:

Superb shot Shorty, I really like that. The DoF works really well, I too had a dig for other words

There are no other words :lol:

I wanted there to be but on the online creator it was just typing the words you wanted and as simple was the only word I wanted and I didnt fancy searching for it.....:plazy way out! - Sorry guys
And it only took 5mins to make *smug*

Thanks very much for the comments:)

Great take on the theme and I'm glad your inspiration is back ;)

As others have said the use of DOF is very effective.

It sounds as though you enjoyed this one Shorty - and you've done an excellent job, and it's great to see you back up there.

I like the dof - nicely judged so that the words at the bottom are just clear enough but the eye is drawn to the 'Simple' in the puzzle. I don't know whether the pen would be better a bit more into the frame, or left out completely. It doesn't detract from a good image, anyway, imo - I'm just thinking aloud! :bonk:

I looked for words, too. :D

Jean

Yep a very clever idea and well taken too. I like it:clap:

Oh so who's a smarties pants then...

This is sooooo good... you really pulled one out of the bag this week...:clap::clap:

It's such great idea...and you made it look so easy to boot...

Brilliant stuff...:woot:

Inspired idea, a slightly tighter crop or a different angle and this is a cracker.

As soon as I looked at it I though, "wish I though of that"

Well done.

I'm in a bit of a pickle. I don't have anything specifically taken fr this weeks task - I had ideas I could only carry out today[was dog show at local rescue] but because of the rain that appeared what wasnt meant to - it meant this wasn't possible. So either I will go round house soon and muster something up - OR you're going to have to do with a dog pic I'm going to TRY and pass off for the task.

Sorrrrrrrrrrry
