Really like the last 3 shots, Matt.
The timing and positioning on the Tetley shot is spot on.
I really love the sky in the most recent shot too, looks like a great location.

Thanks Ben :D the Tetley shot was one of my best efforts to date using the sound trigger  though I'll be looking for a lot more things to use it with  the sky last night was just perfect for this type of shot :D and I hope to be attending the obelisk again in the future as it go a lot of potential as a location :D

That last sky image is lovely

Thanks John, it was just the right evening and thankfully I got there at the perfect time, which is lucky as while I had an idea where it was it took me nearly and hour to actually find it, ironically if I had turned left as opposed to right at the first junction I came to I would have found it instantly :bang:

Day 171 - Fields of Glory

When ever I'm taking photos of wonderful scenes like this I cannot help but having a little bit of Elgar running through my head  and the words to the remembrance prayer, but what a stunning view from the almost infamous Blackstone Farm :D no steam trains though :'(

Another nice one Matt, :)

Cheers Jason, I may put up a before and after of this one later to show just how much work went into making it look like this :D there has been a lot removed because of access issues :(

Matt

Just caught up with your thread Matt, you appear to be getting on just fine with your new camera.

Loving the ND110, stuff by the way!

I have to say I am loving it Ben, though I think my 450D is feeling a little neglected :suspect: I may take that out just to shake the dust off soon

I'm pleased you like the ND110 stuff it's a lot of fun to do

I see you've took the plunge and moved on into the light :D how long have you had the 600D?

Matt

loving those last two mate, and especially after seeing what work had to be done on the poppies:thumbs:

Thanks mate and indeed there was quite a lot more work on those poppies that some may think :D

I really could do with finding some a bit closer to home, the nearest i can think of is daventry

Yeah but they were all a little on the naff side last year and I never did find out where that first ones that we found were

I think maybe there are some or were some last year down of the A14 near Huntingdon

Coolcool. aha you'll have to use the 450D to use that fish eye of yours!

And shamefully I don't actually have it yet, haha - waiting for it to be sent to me. Just a little eager to change my gear on here haha.

  Well I'm sure you'll enjoy it once it's with you  I've actually thinking about it been not far from your part of the world the last two days :bang: I should have dropped you a PM :bang:

Well if a certain member who will remain nameless but he is family relinquishes the fisheye I'll get out and use it again :D to be fair I do have his macro tubes

I just came over to take photo's no other reason than I wanted a bit of change and had some locations that I wanted to check out

Yeah it's the Samyang one, it's a great piece of kit  but since you've got the 11-16 tokina I'm not sure you'd really need the 8mm aswell but then I do love it :D

Fair enough! Stil need to sort out this star trail meet soon ;)

Yeah was unsure which to choose between the Tokina and Fish eye. The price of the fish eye was certainly a lot more inviting but decided for what I need it for would prefer to have the wide angle.

I know a few people that shoot with the 11-16 and they all love it as a lens, personally I think my next wide angle will be the Canon 16-35 :D as on the 5D3 that would be like a 10mm on a crop :D

I'm reliant on the weather being clear as soon as we have that then I will get it going  ironically its actually clear tonight but I didn't expect it to be :bang:

Day 172 - Oasis in the Race

I went out this evening with Darrell (TheDodo) after dragging him off a bus to come out and play rather than go to work :suspect: and we discovered this little gem of a church sandwiched in between Coventry and the M6 motorway, it really makes you wonder about the idea of Rest in Piece :exit:

Thanks mate, I'm really pleased with how this has come out  such a photogenic church, we will have to go back there again at some point :D

Matt

yes we will seeing as there is another photo to be got from the other side by the road

Indeed and the field with the wheat in :D I do love it when there are so many photo op's for the future :p

Very nice poppy field pic Matt, and the church is nice too.

Thanks Michael, I realised when walking round this church that it really is a long time since I'd done a photo of a church, so was really pleased to discover this one :D the poppy's were a great location I only wish the access had been better :bang:

Day 173 - Grey, grey and more grey

Today has seen a sea of grey sky's and flat light so I had to do something that was as far away from grey thankfully we are just in the process of planing up the pots on the patio so I had a good supply of plants to play with :D

Thanks :D on the poppies I only used a digital grad on the sky to bring out more detail, I was rather pleased with how it all came out, the colours on 173 really just brightened up my dull day :D

I think that church would make a stunning place for a wedding :D I think that it would a be a great one for the out door shots, the indoor I don't know as I didn't/couldn't go in :(

That's a shame... looks like a location worthy of re-visits in different seasons/weather

Well it's such a shame that so many churches around our way are locked nowadays :(

I think that tragically it's a sign of the times with rising crime levels in churches a few years ago I could just go up to the door and walk right into many of my local churches  now  that's not normally possible
