Oh yes bundles of reeds :)

Make sure you give us a shout if you do visit our flat lands

Will do  have already been discussing it with Lynton :D

Cool... I guess he is sorting the permits for the blockades to be opened up temporarily

Indeed and the appropriate bribes have been paid :D I'll have to go and get my shots from the doctor before crossing the border ;)

Very nic picture for yesterday Matt, nice colour in the sky and lovely movement in the clouds.

Thanks Michael it was just the right conditions yesterday evening for that type of photo so it had to be done, I'm pleased that you like it

Matt

As you know from previous posts I love a long exposure and the colours in this are just great!

I've just won £100 worth of Hi Tech filters in a competition, and may be tempted with a 10 stopper as i think they do one!

Thanks Simon, and lucky you on the win  I have to recommend having a 10 stopper in your arsenal it just opens up more options for you

indeed, I love the way you actually got the brand so well positioned too :)

Thanks John, I was really pleased that was the case, I'm not sure Tetley's would be that impressed at the branding :D I had Darrell (TheDodo) with me today so his image will be similar as it was his first go using my trigger :D

Matt

lol, I don't know "Tetley... take the shot" or something, could have a football reference at the moment.

Maybe I should email my old area rep at Carlsberg-Tetley, I certainly see where your line of thinking has gone with that thought

Matt

Not sure what the Tetley Bittermen (this term comes from an 'Up North' TV commercial from yonks ago) would make of it! A cracker for me!

I know  but thanks for your comment :D I'm pleased that you like it

I should think it did !!!!

Is it cropped ??

It is cropped but only by taking a little from the side, as I went from a 4:3 standard 5D3 ratio to a 5:4 ratio :D

Only a tad then... nice one

It was good, I had Darrell (TheDodo) with me as he was having his first go with the trigger, he managed to end up smelling of old beer  if you've got any suggestions for things to shoot I'm happy to give them ago, though don't say Lynton  he'll only moan :D

Great to know I'm not the only one to use the phrase "tad"

Matt

I spotted this on Flickr last night and looked at the 2048 version. I have to say that can is spot on in focus. It's a cracking shot Matt. Good use of the new trigger but maybe not the best use of the beer LOL. Good job it was out of date.

Trust me Peter, I'm never one to waste a beer, but when it's 9 years out of date maybe it was best not to drink it :D really glad that you like it  and yeah focus is just right :D

Matt

well shot- I would have done this for you, with my Howa .243 now that would make a mess :lol:

cracking action shot Matt  shame it was a Northern Beer though, what with me being a Yorkshireman.

Les :D

Thanks Les :D I bet it would have made a mess ;) To be honest it's a shame to waste any beer but honestly this one was so out of date you would have probably been on the loo for a week afterwards

I'll have to come down you your part of the country with the trigger and some larger stuff maybe a watermelon :D

Day 169 - Heavy Sky's

I've wanted to get a B&W from the windmill for some time with a really nice marbled sky that you see here and this evening was just perfect for what I was going for

I like the black and white on the windmill, as you say, a very good sky to go with it.

Thanks Michael, for me it's the sky that makes this shot what I wanted  and that is why it's a wider shot as it's the texture of the sky towards the top of frame that I was really going for

Matt

Matt the shots of late are bloody awesome mate. Loving the Tetley shot

Thanks Vince always nice to get this type of feedback  hopefully I'll not disappoint with today's photo that I've just got in from capturing out in the back and beyond of Warwickshire :D

Day 170 - Lord Archer’s Obelisk..

This evening I went on the hunt for an Obelisk that I've seen a few times from the motorway so it was about time that I went out to get a photo of it, and this evening was perfect for a little bit of ND110 sunset :D

now i like that, you know what thats screaming out for....?? ;)

Thank and oh yes it is :D I'm not sure how the cows would feel about a bunch of us there as stupid o'clock but I'm up for it :D it was a bit of a mission to get to it from north Coventry, I'd thought about it when I saw the weather this morning so look up the location so went from the hospital up the M6 then down the M42 :D

Matt

Great shot Matt. Really like this one.

Im sure i can guess what you are thinking lol

Thanks Tony, yeah it's a great location and will work very well for star trails especially at this time of year as by the time it's dark enough the motorway will be nice and quiet :D

I like that too Matt, a cracking sky. A star trail location too?

Thanks Michael, the sky was just perfect I did shoot another version of it with a different composition but it came slightly blurred :bang: I must of knocked the tripod :bang:
