Day 138 - BOOM...

....the moment that a .22cal air rifle pellet and a balloon filled with red coloured water meet with disastrous consensuses for the balloon :D

Haha, you are busy with your new toys.... :)

Indeed, I'm loving this new trigger :D it's very impressive and will only get better as more additions are developed for it

Matt

Just a thought, maybe a faster ss...??

Totally agree, this was one that I did towards the set, and I suspect that I should have upped the ISO a little as I wanted a reasonable DoF so had to stop down a fair amount

Matt

Well what can I say, Matt.
Great work getting to 500 days and beyond. I found that was a fantastic milestone too and re-energised my project a bit too after the drag of winter in year 2!

The balloon trigger shot looks like great fun and I really like the very fast stuff with the water droplets and especially with the strawberry. That is a really cracking photo!

Thanks Ben, it's been a long hard slog to get to 500 but at the same time a lot of fun :D

I'm pleased you like the trigger stuff :D I'm going to be doing some fruit in the coming days

Day 139 - Double Trouble :D

I decided to get a little more arty today so went for a double boom blowing up two balloons in a single shot, you can see here that red is starting to loose its form but blue has only just been burst with only an entrance wound so far :D this was taken 2 thousandths of a second after the pellet was fired :D

To freeze things up a little more I've upper the shutter speed to 1/750th but it was a lot darker today and that meant changing the ISO to 6,400

Any suggest on stuff to shoot I'm to suggests maybe a shook up fizzy drinks can :D

Hi Matt, loving these shots! Excellent stuff!

Thanks Michael, I'm trying to think of what I'm going to do tomorrow, do I shoot something or do I finally build a proper droplet trigger and get to work getting a decent drop shot

Matt

Nice work Matt, why dont you try a white Balloon with multi coloured Glitter inside !!!!

Theres and idea but somewhere that I don't have to worry about turning my grass sparkly  :suspect:

I'm sure you will find a place or use different coloured green glitter in the water !!
:)

Truth be told I want to blow something different up next :naughty: I'm thinking a fizzy drinks can maybe after giving it a good shake :D

Matt

water melon comes to mind, would that be possible I wonder?? Or a bottle of lemonade?

I think bottle of lemonade is the one with potential, I'd love to do something like watermelon but suspect I'd need to get my hands on something a little more powerful than a .22cal air rifle :( though that can be arranged :naughty: I've a few friends that have shot guns :D

Matt

Try a party popper !!

That's a brilliant idea, I'll be doing that one soon  I was also thinking of doing a balloon filled with glow in the dark liquid  that could be a great night time one

Matt

Good luck with it and look forward to viewing !!

I'm going around thinking when I look at stuff, could I shoot that to get a blow up photo, it's not good for my home, I'm going to end up living in a shot up house

Great shots and that balloon cost me £30! (I hadn't intended to get the sound trigger!)

Nice B/W Matt !!! Solem expression to go with the location !!

Thanks Vince, I'm rather pleased with the over all look and conversion to B&W it just seems to work

Matt

I'll be watching out for these results Matt. Have looked at those you can buy but can' justify the funds for the little use it would get.

Well once I feel that I know what I'm doing with the trigger I may look at doing a little mini meet to do some drops and stuff

Matt

Haha, I'd rather have it well cooked, than still mooing....!! ::O:

 I'm like that, I don't like my food to still have a pulse  now to get a photo sorted for today since this is the first time I've stopped to catch breath since before 7am having only got to bed at 4am :(
