Really like Golden Crop, Matt.
I like the LE sunset with the 5D3 as well, but is the tower perfectly in focus?

Thanks Ben, I'm really pleased with golden crop, I think the windmill is suffering from a little camera vibration from the wind :( I will be doing a big update soon to update the last couple of days :D TPcon has slowed me down a little :bonk:

Matt

Ah, that makes sense with the wind. I really like the shot regardless though!

Thanks, I've just got home after over 4 on the road coming back from the TP Convention and I had a great time :D but now to catch up on editing :bang:

Day 133 - Winds a blowing

This is my photo take on the first day of the TP Convention and it was a great day but when we went on the night shoot it was more than a little windy so I though that this demonstrated it quite well it also proves that the stars can be seen in Blackpool :D because no they're not defective pixels

Something a little different there Matt, I like it. I like the low angle. Sounds like you had a good time at the convention.

It really was very good, I'm just trying to get back up to speed, yesterdays should be online in a minute :D

Day 134 - Natural Light for Natural Beauty...

This was taken while at the TP Convention  while PhotoTraining4You were doing a talk/demonstration on Natural Light portraiture  I don't normally take model photo's as it's not the most interesting of subject for me  but in this instance the photo just had to be taken :D

Day 135 - After 500 day's...

Today marked my 500th consecutive day taking photo's for my challenge and to celebrate it I went all arty with a photo with nearly northing in it  I've got no idea if this will be liked or loathed by the wider audience but I'm rather pleased with it :D

I went all out and made the colours a little more than realistic but I think that is what the scene as Blackpool can be a little more than realistic :cuckoo: and a long exposure to smooth things out a little

A massive thanks to all of you that have followed, supported and critiqued my way through this last 500 day's I really hope that you can see and improvement

Hi Matt, 500th photo a big well done  You always manage to keep a high standard and it has been a great pleasure in following your pictures

I like the natural light portrait, very nice lighting and you have captured a really nice expression there.

I do quite like the blackpool shot too, I remember finding it very awkward and rather boring to photograph the beach, using the long exposure has certainly added to and imo made the shot work. I think the only way it would have better is with a little more separation between the white surf and the blue sea on the horizon, a great shot for the 500th photo

Thanks Michael, I'm really very pleased with making it to 500  it's been a long hard slog but very much enjoyable

Blackpool is an interesting place  and I bet that there are lot's of opportunities

The expression on the model photo is the reason that it made it to my photo of the day :D

Day 136 - Dropped in it :suspect:

Well having got home yesterday it was only natural that today I had to have a go with the newly acquired phototrigger's droplet trigger by dropping a strawberry through it, it's going to take me some time to get the best out of it but it's going to be a lot of fun to getting there

Cool! Forgot all about that, will take a look in the thread.

You should it's a stunning piece of kit, though I can see a dedicated macro lens being in the not to distant future

Matt

Well done Matt, I like the strawberry and cream shot, it's great for a first attempt. I can't believe my trigger is still in the box, I'm hoping things calm down here soon so I can have a play!

Will be saving the pennies for one! A nice new macro lens sounds good! I have a 105 f2.8 kiron macro which always gave me good results, but its from the film days, I want a g series Panasonic so I can use it again...

Next on the list is to have a play with water drops as I really want to get some decent ones  but keep looking at the 100/2.8L Macro and I have a feeling that it may make it into my kit bag  and for that I blame Cowasaki    my bank manager is going to hate me :( but then I don't overly like him :naughty:

Because this is all tripod based I could go out and buy an old manual lens as I don't use AF for this once focussed :D there's an idea

Matt

I use my old Nikon 60mm macro which I've had about 25 years (showing my age now!), its a great lens but it would be better to have a longer focal length! Don't think I could push Peter to a new lens at the moment especially after my spending spree this weekend!

It would certainly be worth it! I would look at one myself, but my camera body really does need upgrading first!

Fair enough :D sometimes I hate this hobby as just when I think I've got all of the kit that I need I go and see something new

 to be honest I don't think that I'll be buying a new lens for a fair amount of time, already spent too much recently

Nice I like this shot !!

Look forward to it bud :D

Look like you had a cracking weekend !

I'm planning on attempting water droplets tonight, just been out and brought some stuff to do it, I've not got the actual kit that I wanted to get so am going to bodge something together

Matt

Day 137 - Baby Blue

Quite appropriate as I'm just taking baby steps with the Phototriggers Trigger that I would use a baby blue mix for today's effort, now on the shopping list for tomorrow is the stuff to build up a nice little rig to do water droplets

This is a very heavy crop to get this image :( something just goes to make me think I need to look at a macro lens real soon :(

Very nice that Matt, like the colours and tones in there.

Thanks Michael :D I'm pleased with the colours

100mm 2.8 l will be next on the list Matt I suspect.....! Lol

Indeed that's what I'm looking at Jason, but will have to let the bank account recover from the 5D3 first

Matt

I had a nice parcel today.....;)

Very nice, so I guess you will be out to play at the first opportunity  look forward to see some photo's through it

Go on Matt treat yourself again , you only live once !!

Stop it Vince, I'm having trouble enough from going to a particular website and putting in my card details
