Great find and how strange it just turn up, its not that old really is it, still looks well worn though, we have a piggy bank we put all our left over holiday coins in, and a jar for notes,

Bth shots have good details and lighting looks good

Thanks Dave, yeah how weird especially since to my knowledge non of my family have ever been to India  so I've no idea how I came into possession of it

I'm pleased you like the photo

Matt

That's an interesting one. Did you add the orbs afterwards?

Jenny

Yes and no is the answer  the one was in the original photo and the other was added in PP

Day 97 - Knebworth Dawn

Illuminated by the first light of this morning sun :D here you see Knebworth House in all it's glory as we arrived for a couple of day's work at a event hosted in the estate

Knebworth is wonderful and I was up very early with Darrell (thedodo) for work there we are providing the audio for a two day event, I'm sat backstage as I type this  working hard :coat: and indeed I we were up very early 2:30am and on site for 6:00am :bonk: I'm not made for those kind of starts :shake:

Matt

Lovely flowers and the composition on the orbs is really effective.

Thanks Tony, I'm pleased that you've like what you've found in the thread

Day 98 - Past way's

From a time when garden architecture was a little more than a few slabs and a gnome from my trip down to Knebworth, I confess that the quality of this image is not the highest I'm going to attribute that to sleep deprivation  so for that reason I've processed it to give it a little bit of vintage feel

Day 99 - Floral Fun

This is just a quick one from the garden, this shows our first tulip out of the year, to be honest probably not the best flower photo taken today in the world but I like it :D I like the colours and the DoF showing the developing blooms in the background

99/366 (464) by mwhcvt, on Flickr

It's funny but my Day 99 last year was also of a flower though not a tulip but I could take you to exactly where it was taken

Love the tulip, Matt. Gorgeous colour. They really brighten up a garden at this time of year.

Jenny

Indeed they do Jenny :D I'm pleased that you like it

Processing works really well on yesterdays shot Matt, I like it. The tulip has great colours and I like the lighting of it.

Thanks Michael, If I'm honest the processing on yesterday's was done to mask was is in reality not the best photo I've taken  but I was pushed for time and very very tired  I still am and will go to bed soon

Day 100 - Floating Away

It's actually been quite a bit of time since I've done a little bit of still life light painting so it was about time that I did some again and besides today the weather has been totally awful so it makes a chance to break out the black backdrop :D

Inspired by the advert for the product  you gotta eat these ones fast before they float away on you :D

Congratulations to you too Matt!
How long did it take you to get this shot?
Or is it photoshopped?

Phil

Thanks Phil, there is some photoshop involved but really not a lot at all, all told it too about 10 minutes, from set up, shoot photo to edit and upload, there is not complicated stuff the only editing is basic edit of RAW for levels and white balance etc then careful cloning  really nothing fancy at all

Matt

Well done for getting to the 100,

what a fab shot i would never have thought of that, god stuff Matt,

Thanks Dave, really it's 465th POTD but it's the 100th of this years challenge, I guess the next massive milestone is in 35 days  which having just checked is the second day of the TP Convention if I'm not mistaken :woot:

It's very easy to do so I'd be interested in seeing what you can do with the technique

Matt

Hi Matt, day 100 already! Well done! A cracking pic too.

I know the year has and is going really fast  I'm pleased you liked what I've done for my 100th of the year  my next milestone comes in May when I reach 500th POTD :cuckoo:

Day 101 - The April Shower

It's that time of year and I've been hoping to catch this all month so I've finally got up there to do it, here is a panorama showing three different rain showers passing over southern Warwickshire this afternoon and then the blue sky between those showers :D

You can see on the far left the Beacon of Burton Dassett and on the far right my Car

101/366 (466) by mwhcvt, on Flickr

You can see in many of the fields the first showing of the distinctive yellow glow of Oil Seed Rape

If your in the mood to see this panorama in all it's 20mb glory then click HERE caution that this image is a 19118x2413px image :D

Day 102 - A Legacy Remembered

The Sir Joseph Paxton memorial at the entrance to the London Road Cemetery in the heart of Coventry, I wonder just how many Coventrians don't even know that this exists :(

102/366 (467) by mwhcvt, on Flickr

Sir Paxton was most famous for his design of Great Crystal Palace, of the Great Exhibition. He was later in life the MP for Coventry until his death in 1965

This is a 118 second exposure @ f/14 ISO100

Hi Matt, the panoramic looks great at full size, very nice pic. That looks a nice memorial, I like how the trees frame it too, does it need a bit of a straighten?

Thanks Michael, I'm pleased with how the panorama came out as you know to appreciated it you really need to go look at the massive version :D

It's an amazing memorial, that I'm pleased to have finally got a picture of as the last time I went to get a photo there were some unsavoury types there so I didn't stop, as to the levelling I'm confident that it's level looking at the verticals but the base makes it look like it's leaning for some reason

Day 103 - Old Giles

Chesterton in the very heart of Warwickshire is one of the oldest villages in the county with evidence of a former Roman village near to the village and a very famous windmill  this is not a view that many people will get from Chesterton as most will simply visit the windmill :(

This shows the church of St. Giles in the heart of Warwickshire just outside the small village of Chesterton

This was taken using my 8mm fisheye lens

Hi Matt.

Liking the panorama and todays church. The headstones in the foreground set it off.
You really are getting plenty of use out of your fisheye!

Phil

Very nice looking church building that Matt, very pleasing composition too.

Thanks Michael, looking back I've not actually done a church in nearly two weeks  so I though that I would fit this one in today as I was at a loss as to what to do since bluebells still didn't want to play ball :(

Well it is a nice little village  and it was dark last time and I was too busy swearing having just formatted my card with an entire day of TP images on it :bang: we couldn't have got this angle as only the FE can fit it all in

I take it you'll be very keen to go out for a play next week :naughty:

Matt

Isn't it in the village of Chesterton Matt......? :)

It is, it's actually about a quarter of a mile out from the houses though  hence why I said just outside
