Tonight with a number of other TPer's I attended Chesterton Windmill to have a bit of star trail fun :thumbs: this was shot with my fish eye lens and as such shows of a little bit of the distortion that you get with this lens :D

I'm very pleased with this as I've just managed to get polaris into frame :D and to top it off I've managed to capture an iridium flare :D

This is made up of around 220 x 30 seconds exposures @ f/4 ISO800

Day 86 - Old Money

With all the talk of money troubles maybe we should go back to the old money, this is part of my collection of coins, I love coins simply because of the thoughts of the history behind them, this is a co that hasn't been in use in the UK for a number of years, this is an old five shilling coin :D

Thanks Michael, truth be known it is still clear so I could have gone out and done another star trail but I'm a little tired and thought that people would get a little bored of them, I did quite a lot of still life work last year but I've done very little this year so I though that I would do one today and a subject that I love :D old coins

Day 87 - Go Faster Stripes :D

Well in the spirit of learning new stuff as part of my challenge this is the first time that I've done a video as part of my challenge :D and only my second ever time lapse

This shows the first cut of out back lawn :thumbs: it actually normally takes around an hour to cut all the lawns in our back garden but here you see them done in under a minute :D

Made up of approx 600 frames shot at a rate of a frame every 5 seconds :thumbs:

Really like the timelapse. Something I really want to try sometime. Did you have a particular guide you used?

PS: Your lawn is massive! Rather you than me cutting it :)

Thanks Ben, I didn't really have a guide I know that standard TV is something around 26 frames per second and based my first one on that, but I found that to be a little too fast so this one was based on 10fps also because I didn't want to movement to be too stuttery I made the gab between exposures 5 seconds :thumbs: I hope that helps

P.S. I don't cut the grass :lol: and what you see here is about half the grass :eek:: :thinking:

Did you have to press the shutter/remote every 5 seconds then?
I really fancy trying it from my roof or something like that before I leave Korea.

I have THIS it's fully programmable so I just dial in to take a photo every 5 seconds and it just leave the camera doing it's stuff :thumbs:

Interesting stuff.

I have a basic wireless remote and have been playing with that for people shots and some night work too.

Either way, great idea with the timelapse and great to see you're keeping up the variety of shots/techniques in this 366!

To be honest it's been hard to keep the variety up as so far this year I've done so much when it comes to landscapes so I'm having to remind myself to do other styles :bonk: but so far this first quarter has been very satisfyling :thumbs:

Day 88 - Wildlife Wonder

This is not the best wildlife/nature photo that your ever going to see :( I'm still not happy with the performance of my lens, it's very soft :( even when shooting at

This is the first butterfly that I've seen this year, I believe it's a Peacock Butterfly but I'm happy to be corrected on that front :thumbs:

At this size it looks pretty sharp -I know what you mean though, theres always something more isn't there, such as it could have been pointing toward the camera, face in focus and so on - but these things aren't meant to be somethings!

On thing I have learnt through my last few days in macro is that bugs like nothing more than to have their bottom's photo'd! I'm thinking of getting my status changed to "Bug proctologist"!!

:lol: Indeed, I think as photographers we are always in search of the perfect photo, I know that I've become a little obsessed with it on occasion

I think that is the reason I naturally gravitate away from wildlife and nature photography most of the time :thumbs:

Day 89 - Oh Yes.....

I've always said about my love of all forms of coinage especially older coins will this one is an example of a coin that is 20 years older than I am :D

This is a Churchill Crown, this was struck to commemorate the life and death of Sir Winston Churchill

Thanks mate, and yes indeed your tubes came into play on this one, though I'm not sure that they worked that well with 17-85 the front element was nearly touching the coin :eek: glad that you like it though :D

It's apparently the most common of the crown coins :thumbs:

That happens if i use the 18-55 with them. i can actually touch the subject and have it in focus, they work better with my other lenses

I think that it has to do with the EF-S lens issue I think even with these manual tubes EF lens are still the order of the day :shrug:

Day 90 - Beggar's Belief :naughty:

This evening I revisited a church that featured a couple of times last year in a local village, but this is the first time that I've been there with my fish eye :D this is the church of St. Giles in Bubbenhall, Warwickshire
