Cracker yet again. Enjoying watching this throughout the year.

Excellent work as always Matt, especially that sunset on day 8. Thats a wall hanger for sure :)

Day 9 is amazing also and massive, I would imagine that would look mighty fine on canvas.

Thank you, I only hope I can maintain this high standard, Indeed today's is rather large :D

Day 9 is awesome in large, the foreground kinda balances the sky better. (though it does show the sky to be a little darker on the rhs)

Thank you, I'm very pleased with it, I've visited this location a number of times recently in hope of good light and this evening I got the best I've had as of yet :D

Lovely, lovely use of HDR there.

Thank you, it's nice to know that it's worked out well :D

#8 and #9 are both excellent. You've found some really nice spots.

Indeed it's been a very good couple of day's mother nature has been very kind to me

Thank you, we cross posted  I hope I can maintain this standard as I would hate to disappoint :D

Fantastic! :)

Did I spot flaw just to the right of the sun, or just natural? could only see it in the 8k+ wide image.

:thumbs:Really like the 'Golden Hour' Matt it's a fantastic image - well done

Thanks Nick it's easy when mother nature plays her bit for you :D

Thanks Beth I'm pleased that you like it, I've just been back and had a look and indeed now that you've pointed it out there is a little bit of an alignment balls up on my part :bang:

Matt

Damn, sorry about that, think you've got to be a paranoid pano wrangler to find it! :D Still a cracking image.

Don't be sorry Beth you spotted something that I missed  I will check harder next time, I'm going to go with the fact I had someone nagging me that will remain nameless so I rushed the processing :bang:  :exit:

I'm pleased that you like it though

Hi Matt

I like the framing on this shot, and it looks a fab pano, but to be honest the yellows/reds look over done a bit and the sky has a greenish tone, could be my monitor though, what filter/if you used one, or is it just the HDR

Thanks Dave, there were no filters fitted for this one  I'll be honest, not all the colours are exactly as they came out the camera :naughty: not light Day 8 :D I used a warming digital filter from my HDR software but it's not been changed too much, I can see the hint of green that your talking about but I quite liked the overall golden hour effect since this was taken in that wonderful time :D

If I'm honest I still prefer mine Dave, I guess that's because I'm biased  and the fact that I'm invested in the original  you edit is good, it's different to mine in a good way, but it's sort of lost that golden feeling that I was and still am in love with

Aye Matt its all subjective and personal I know what you mean,

Day 10 - Chesterton, but not the famous view :D

I've only been to this church once before and that was for a little bit of night time fun, I suspect to get the very best from this location I'm going to have to go back a few times but that's not a problem and it's a wonderful place to visit :D

This shows the church of St. Giles in the heart of Warwickshire just outside the small village of Chesterton, this is a view that is often overlooked in favour of the much more famous windmill.

I'm quite impressed as myself for resisting the urge to do a light trail, I've gone a whole ten days without a light trail yet :D

Another great shot Matt -
What program are you using to combine the shots for the HDR?

Im jealous of the amount of nice outdoor shots you have - roll on the summer when we have more light!!

Stunning location, really stunning. This is just a picture which I could keep looking at. A place I imagine you would get a different shot each visit and still have bags of inspiration left over.

I rather like it myself :D and I think that your right as I have loads of ideas, I think that the sun will rise near the back of the church so at some point soon I intend on being back there for that

I've been very lucky just recently in that I've been able to get out of the house a little more than normal  and that mother nature has given me the weather to do so too

For my HDR I use a product called Dynamic Photo HDR  it's very user friendly and can be really tweaked to your own tastes :D

Matt

This one is really cool, im just trying to work out where you took this from.......i would guess somewhere along that long lane leading up to the church?

Indeed it is from the land and a certain feature was removed

Great work Matt.
I love Number 8.
How do you manage all that travelling?

Thanks Daniel, Day 8 was spectacular beyond words  and will be getting printed very large :D as to the travelling I love driving :D and I had to take my nephew back to Manchester anyway so it made sense to travel a little further

Matt

Some fantastic work here. Really love no.7. The sort of thing i would happily hang on the wall

Thank you Dave, and in fact Day 7 may well get put onto canvas in the near future as my Dad wants a picture of the Windmill on canvas for the lounge  I'm pleased that your liking my start to the year I only hope I can maintain this standard

Matt

As soon as i saw it i thought 'canvas!' :D
Really is a lovely image. We have a mill near here which has been converted to a house. Im going to ask them in the spring/summer if they mind me taking a photo.

I'm sure they will not mind  especially if you offer them a print of it  say a 8x10 in a cheap frame  could be done for less than a fiver and if it's a photo you want then more than worth the price

Day 11 - Beach Day Memories

What with the weather being not so nice today it was time to take advantage of opportunity that I saw a few days ago when out for the afternoon with Just Dave and TheDodo, when we had the most amazing sunset that you can imagine :D

While on the beach I saw a few of these shells but all were a little bit damaged, so I stopped looking and concentrated on getting my photo's later on while still on the beach taking photo's Dave presented me with this shell, it's perfect with no marks or breaks on it so it travelled all the way from the beach at Lytham Saint Anne's just to feature in my challenge as some point :D

It was a great find on your part Dave  I'm rather pleased with this :D the sand seems the only way to display the shall though I may experiment with it some more in the future

Pleased that you like it :)

Matt

This works really well, wishing i had done a spot of beach combing myself now:thumbs:

Thanks mate, this was Dave's handy work finding this one all the ones I found were broken in different parts :(

Matt

Im liking that :) The extra sand definately rounds it off

Thanks, and if your wondering to get the sand so nice involves the use of a standard cooks sieve

Day 12 - Minimalism in Landscape

A rather minimalist landscape, the colours in the sky this evening were rather impressive as the sun set over Warwickshire so I decided to go out and get a landscape, I had seen this tree a few weeks ago and have been waiting for the right light to get this photo :D
