Day 301 - A bit of test

Honestly this was only a test of a theory to see how it would work, but I was that pleased with the result that I just had to share this as part of my 365, look out for this appearing in a photo soon :D

Day 302 - Celebrations

This was a photo that I took at my first match of the season  I had been struggling to build up the enthusiasm to go out to cover any rugby matches since the start of the new season, but I had a request from one of the bigger local clubs to ask if I would cover there match this weekend, so couldn't resist giving it a go again :D

Superb pic Matt, a great action shot. How about a caption to go with it.....:naughty:

Well having grown up in a rugby club, my mind has been ruined  nothing I could caption this with would make it through mod scrutineering

Day 303 - Changing Times

Not perfect but I wanted to do an image today that reflected the change from British Summer Time today

I light painted this but for the life of me I could not avoid the catch light, this go's to show that more practice is needed :D

303/365 by mwhcvt, on Flickr

Matt. That's one hell of an action shot. Well caught...

Thanks Kev

Hiya Matt, I like the picture of the clock, the light painting looks really good. The catchlights are awkward to avoid aren't they, I tried light painting today for my 52 and had the same trouble, only there was more of it! But got there in the end, albeit with a different subject by the end lol.

It was a real PITA but this was the best that I got in relation to the catch light situation :bang: I'm please that you like it, I'll pop over and check out you light painting :D

matt... i love the fact you can see the second hand going round.. giving a rough idea of long it took you..

I'm glad it's been noticed, as that's what I was trying to achieve with this showing the changing of the time  as you can see there is also some movement in the minute hand that is visible in the exposure :D

Matt

The rugby picture is great, Matt.
I really need to take more people shots and more inspiration always helps! :)

Just do it :D this was my first rugby match of the season as I'd struggled to work up the enthusiasm to do any so far this season, but one of the committee members from the club where this was taken asked me if I would come up and take some photo's at this match :D

Day 304 - One for the Mod's

This is kind of like another photo's that I did for my 365 earlier in the year, however this one has been given a mod twist in that I've used Jaffa Cakes instead of Cookies and this has been done by light painting :D

Nice one.

great painting ... must try something more patient like this..

Well there would have been more in the image but...well...:suspect: :exit:

Give it a go, it's great, and I've sorted out a great improvised infinity wall for this kind of thing  Thick mount card wedged under the knobs on my cooker hob

Day 305 - An old English Classic

This is a wonderful view taken this evening in my wonderful village, it can sometimes be hard to see the beauty in your surroundings, especially when you've lived in the village for 26 years :D but this is what I consider to be a really nice view

It's a nice pic, but The first think I thought was SATURATION. Either it's a lovely colourful place or you've upped the sat a little to much for me?

I am looking through a ghey monitor though.

I'd also eliminate the small gap to the side of the left tree..

Hiya Matt,

Wow I can't believe how far behind I am on commenting on your 365 .... I just don't know where the time goes

I've been away for a week, and I tried to pop into TP and check your thread daily. However the WiFi connection at the campsite was a bit slow, so not good for lengthy posts, which I am going to have to do now
So the wine glass is charged, the vibes are on and I am going to spend however long it takes to do a catch up now .... I feel like I need a good Matt365'ing tonight

Here goes:

Day 266: Ahhhh I remember this day well .... and it looks like you had a good one. When I look back over the year on things that I have learned this is one subject for which you have helped me loads, and given me much inspiration to do this type of photography, which I will no doubt be doing much more of now that the nights are in early. I always take great pleasure in viewing your light trail and light painting works.

Day 267: Wow! Now that is different .... but 330 sec exposure .... the mind boggles ... but I like the result. Personally I think a b&w conversion would be fab on this one to give it a more eerie feel.

Day 268: Very cute, sharp and great DOF!

Day 269: Great idea .... and the old saying "find a penny, pick it up, and all day long you'll have good luck" comes to mind. My only critique on this one is the centre shot..... I would have preferred it a bit more of a direct, i.e., from above shot and then reducing the shadow slider to darken the background to conform with the left and right shots and perhaps a tad increase in saturation to bring out the bronze tones to match the set.

Day 270: Another great shot of the church, with the fab sky .... but I don't know why in these tighter crops I seem to think they will work better in b&w

Day 271: Oh to be a fly on the wall ;) Somehow I seem to be drawn to taking photos of flies :cuckoo: You have captured some great detail in this one and I like the DOF .... almost gives the fly a softness .... if that makes sense.

Day 272: Hmmmm  I'm not so sure about this one (sorry) ... mainly because I generally prefer landscape shots in colour, especially where the sun is featured. I agree ... it looks like it needs a straighten, but having said that .... I think what throws the eye is the converging lead in line that you have on the far left which, I think, in colour, would give a different perspective to the scene.

Day 273: Another light trail, which I can't fault and really like because of the dusk sky in the distance.

Day 274:  I love the title of this one .... how apt :D The star trails remind me of a strobe light and the colours flickering on the church seem to be flashing to the beat of .... hymns? I am still trying to figure out how you get such fab circular star trails .... just when I think I have got Polaris in view, the darn thing moves

Day 275 & 276: I'm commenting on these as one .... I love the idea/concept and being very much an 80's gal ... these tickle my fancy, especially the cola bottle .... another project to add to my already long list of things to photograph. Well Done!

Day 277: OMG! I love this one, because it is something I have wanted to do for over a year now, but have never had to guts to try because I am so scared at failing on first attempt ... and then giving up due to disappointment of the results (OCD kicks in when it comes to this type of shot ). However, I will make it my mission to attempt some of these water drop shots this winter! I love the colours in your shot ... what did you use as a background?

Day 278: I like, although again a b&w conversion may work.

Day 279: Love the detail, and as you say shows how much wear there is over 10 years. Wonder what it will look like 50 years from now?

Day 280: Fortunately I don't suffer from hay fever, so didn't sneeze at this shot. I think it would have been better if you had got the whole main stamen in focus, with the soft focus just above and below.

Day 281: Beautiful!

Day 282: Haha! I like that ... a gentle reminder of who's thread it is .... BRILL!

Day 283: Good for you calling 999, I hope all were saved from the fire. Like the bit of HDR processing .... sort of adds to the drama.

Day 284: Very nice! I like that one

Day 285: Lovely capture, nice detail and DOF.

Day 286: Sorry, I'm not much into plane shots so can't really offer much c&c on same.

Day 287: I like this one and the colour seems to work here.

Day 288: Something confuses me about this shot, I'm not sure about the composition. Perhaps a crop to the right, i.e., up the tree trunk .... but then that would produce an odd shaped photo. Perhaps if you had taken the shot from a different angle, i.e., in front on the tree trunk and just got the tomb stone and church spire in the shot? There also seems to be a bit of haloing on my screen, but that may be due to calibration.

Day 289: Lovely capture, just looks like it needs a bit of a straighten to alight the roof tops.

Day 290: Okay .... abstract is what I like to do, and I like the potential this has, but have to say it is not quite working for me ... (sorry). I've tried to download a copy of same, without success, to show you what ideas I have for same. But hey ho, it is all a learning curve and ..... abstract .... is very much a personal preferenc

Day 291: Like it a lot!!! Especially the colours and clarity!

Day 292: Sort of works for me, but seems a bit over saturated in parts.

Day 293: Very creative ..... love how you have the 365 on the LCD and all the corresponding buttons showing and others blanked out! You have such a wonderful creative mind

Day 294: OMG this brings back many memories for me, learning all about aperture and exposure. Great lighting, except for the bright spot!

Day 295 Nope ... sorry ... this doesn't speak to me

Day 296 Bit too dark .... looses some of the sex appeal to the whole Rock image. But then I'm no good at portraits, just offering a viewers op!

Day 297: I like the idea, but would have preferred a darker background for the subject to shine!

Day 298: Well..... I have been waiting for such a capture! So good on you for getting this one!

Day 299: Yum, Yum! give me the juice!!!! :D

Day 300: COOL!

Day 301: Oh Matt! Teach me please xxxxx I would love learn how to do this sort of stuff ....... you are welcome to kip on my blow up bed any time ..... and bring the Dodo with you as he has some fab ideas too...... you guys are welcome in my home any time!!! I have some great sites for us to do some fantastic light painting .... great canal bridges with loads of fab graffitti, where we could really throw some steel wool! Dx

I guess it may be a little saturated but if it is that's only from a light bit of HDR treatment  it is a very colourful scene naturally as the sun was very low on the horizon behind me so was shining on the scene in that wonderful golden hour tones
