Musician Photos

My sisters ex bf has asked me to take some photos for his album cover.

I have had a few ideas, but would be interested in your opinions and ideas.

Idea 1.

Tom (the guy) standing at the right of the frame at night with fill in flash from the side. There would be lights from cars blurred behind him.


Idea 2.

A simple studio set up with a white background and him on the left/right side.


Idea 3.

A shot of Tom jumping in the air with his guitar with a nice blue sky as a background.

The guy is quite vague, but I know the music is acoustic with just him (not a band). I think that the shots neet to be quite urban and they need to be portraits of him.

Check out this guy http://www.joeyl.com/ He is pretty cool with band photography. Lots of post processing but IMO results would be excellent for an album cover

Ummm....him sitting in a tree at the park with his guitar in his hand? Or on a park bench, as in on the lip instead of on the actual bench?

In front of a Taxi with the Taxi sign just out of focus?

Ask him to find a few sample shots he really likes, and some he really doesn't - that could well guide you to an idea

I found the 'arty' types never stop wanting the image 'tweaking' so I usually turn this stuff down now, or give them a price I know they won't want to pay
