I'm a bit of a music snob really (I like radiohead) as are many of my friends, but we were having a chat the other day and guilty pleasures came up - mines Alphabeat. I know theyre fairly rubbishy but I think tis great pop music and its one of my most listened to albums this year.

Anyone else care to come forward and be shamed?

I dunno, don't think I have any "guilty pleasures" have some doozies in my CD collection but nothing I've listened too for a good year or two. Go on then, I'll put forward Garbage :D

Sone Roses,Joy Division and the Fun lovin Criminals.

And Kenny Rogers.........;)

Guilty pleasures is a tricky one, some people are proud of liking steps, I on the other hand wish they'd never bothered, I hated them, just like most of the pop rubbish, and especially these manufactured popstars from the likes of pop idol and X factor etc.

Bands I love:
  • Dream Theater (Progressive Rock!)
  • Incubus
  • Crash Test Dummies
  • Greenday
And that's just a few.
I also love the work of Rachmaninov and Prokofiev.

I could probably go on too. When I saw DT in '04 their warm up was a band called Pain of Salvation...now they were freakin' awesome too.

Paul Weller
The Jam
Dexys
Genesis
Most "Madchester" stuff :D
Style Council

None of this Indie nonsense

Ohhhh, just realised it's guilty pleasures....... in that case *cough* Daniel Bedinfield *cough*

Despite being a Classic and Prog rock fan with live gigs by Zeppelin Yes and Purple under my belt I have to confess that I do have a soft spot for the early albums of

Wait For It

Barry Manilow

Nah, that was by Dream Academy, who were a folk rock group. Dream Theater are an American Progressive Rock group from Long Island.

I'd be very careful with this thread. !!!!

It's liable to wake Mr Cheese from his slumber in the Admin room.
I swear Matty has every single god forsaken cheese ridden track made in the past 20 years :runaway:

Alabama 3 - Exile On Coldharbour Lane:love:

oh hey, i've got one for you - The Band and CCR (no wait that's two) :D

Off the top of my head. Chris Isaak. But to be honest I can defend my choices so why feel ashamed :) Ok, maybe

Creedance Clearwater Revival? God I love Fortunate Son, awesome track. Don't know anything else of theirs though.

Yep - i also like john foggerty on his own too

Have You Eve Seen The Rain and Proud Mary are two of my CCR favourites

I missed Rush off my list too :bang:

Muse, there's another that I missed!

guilty pleasures is one thing and your favourites are another - but has anyone considered a a top 15 tracks of all time?

That could be cool!

I started making a "All Time Favourite Tracks" a a while ago - started off by threads like these on a couple of forums - something like 26 i think it was.

Then I sent them into Radio Caroline top 15 show saying "you pick, i cant decide" :)

Since then it's been streamlined and added to though :)

I'm just a Classic Rock lover really :)

another of my regular plays are Yes.

anything blues rock is good!

really liking seasick steve at the moment but hes practically mainstream, crack addled whiley even played him on her R1 show

Am an indie/rock man myself.

Audioslave
idlewild

etc

ive only got 1 idlewild album which i think is brilliant (in remote part) and when i saw them live they were truely superb (tiny venue that i was prettymuch the house tog for) but for some reason ive never bought any other albums
