I am putting together a music system for the greece holiday home and after a bit of fiddling i have a nice pair of TIBO PLUS 3 Bluetooth speakers linked to an older Samsung Galaxy 7inch tablet.
I play via the Bluetooth connection and it is relly good.

I want an app that suits the style of play i am looking for ie a desktop media player type look.

I want a more visual experince.

any thoughts
currently using a free player called "blackplayer"

have you had a look at plex? iirc it will work for a music library stored on a local device just as well as it will for steaming over a network. Only thing i would say having spent a long time sorting our music library is that you need to make sure the id tags etc are ok in order for it to detect everything in the library. Works nicely when its done though and gives cover art, a list of each artists better known songs and a bit of a blurb about them too.

I did flirt with plx a while ago but to be honest looking for something skinny and simple.
most of the music that myself and the wife listen to at the moment is just mp3s ripped from internet radio sources and just dumped on the tablet, we mainly listen to internet radio but the greece house has poor internet

that's fair enough, i can't see plex being much use for internet radio with it relying on scraping from gracenote etc for its information. I have a similar problem as i want to start to start listening to audiobooks in work but its not the best for those either without a workaround.

my setup is mega simple in that i use a product called radiosure which just runs on a laptop in uk recording internet radio and it splits the files up into separate mp3s.
i just whizz a batch of about 1000 into a made up album and lob them on the tablet.
when played back it is just like the internet radio.

I use Winamp for this - does the same thing it's always done. It's simple, free and it works

I've been using PowerAmp for years, nice and simple or you can have tarty visualisations etc :)

I will download a few of those cheers chaps
