Just trying to watch something on TV, but the stupid music is so annoying. It is difficult enough, trying to listen what actors are saying. I think a lot of times, music in programmes is so unnecessary. Do we really need to be told when to be happy, and when to be scared?

For heavensake, don't watch Interstellar then. The music is so annoyingly overbearing that at times you can't understand the dialog.

Some shows are worse than others, but on the other hand, I was watching Sons of Anarchy and decided the lack of music made many scenes even more boring than they were. Then, there'd be a whole song near the end over clips with no dialogue.

I don't mind the odd, very little twiddle with the fiddle, for a spine tingler horror. Or other very subtle bits, if it helps the flow of something.

I can usually filter out music, so don't notice it. If only I could filter out the wife's voice. ;)

I usually skip Youtube videos with music over camera tutorials. It is refreshing, when you get a good clear tutorial that has no distracting music.

The worst offender for playing music during programmes was Top of the Pops in the mid '80s! :P

music can be an essential part of the audiovisual experience.

what I don't like is when a program will play a random Garageband created bass track mixed in such a way that it sounds like someone is outside the house in a car playing the music.. it really is not needed.

That's a novel use for a practise golf ball!
