Having become an owner of Macbook Air recently, I think it is the perfect computer for editing on the move. I also read Lightroom also makes Smart Previews which allows edit of photos without full RAW file, this seems perfect.
My ideal workflow is:
1. Import photos onto the laptop and make some edits
2. When I get home, transfer RAW files and the LR catalogue onto desktop
3. Have the smart preview on the laptop and have all edits synced between the 2 computers using Dropbox
4. Make final exports on the desktop where the RAW files are located
I have already done 1 with about 1000 photos from last month's trip. Now I'm stuck on how to achieve number 2 and 3.
This post seems useful, but it assumes first import is done on the desktop.

Any help on multicomputer workflow with Lightroom is greatly appreciated.
