Hi

Anyone using a multi USB wall charger to charge iPad, iPhone and other USB devices?

Looking for suggestions on what to get?

Thank you

FWIW

Not Apple products being charged but I did get a Volutz 2 port USB charger and it is good for what it is.

In hindsight maybe would have gotten a 4 port............though so far have not needed that number of points in a single charger.

HTH :)

We have several mains sockets with USB sockets built in dotted around the house. Handy to be able to plug any USB chargeable device in pretty much anywhere. Got plenty of Micro USB cables as well so we don't need to hunt one of them down!

Thank you all for the suggestion, was going to go for the Anker ones but looking at the recent reviews there have been a number of bad ones.

That's what you get a guarantee for Kev.

I have a few Anker products including chargers and power-banks. Best supplier of such kit.

For USB milti charger units, go for the higher ampage models - 4.8 amp keeps the speed of recharging. IPads draw 2.1 amps on their own.

What a great idea. (y) I never knew these existed.

I've started fitting these to new kitchens for my clients. They are just a straight swap for a double socket - no need for special plugs and adaptors.
4 x USB outlets are available too.

Not to be cynical but the future proofer in me would be very upset about those knowing USB-C has already started being adopted

Umm what difference does USB C make? it's the connector at the other end. I have two USB C devices and have no problem charging either.

Not at the minute but as Apple have demonstrated, USB-C to USB-C is next so although you have no problem now, charging from USB type a, hopefully an iPhone 8 will come with a USB-c to lightning, meaning your integrated plug isn't so great anymore without an adapter which defeats the point, maybe I'm wrong, I have a USB plug in my house but it's specifically for my nest thermostat so it doesn't bother me so much but I wouldn't have any more.

It's a valid point though an adaptor lead will solve that problem if needed but USB A isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Thank you all for the replies, bought a Anker USB Charger PowerPort 5 (40W 5-Port USB Charging Hub) Multi-Port Wall Charger and the Anker iPad cable.

I know its too late but I bought one of these.

A bit late now for the OP, but I got a 4 port Anker one and it seems OK.
I also bought some short (15cm) Amazon basics cables to reduce cable clutter around the plug.

I got one a year ago and noticed one of the ports didn't seem to charge. A quick chat with an Anker rep and a new one was despatched to me.

Awesome customer service.

I use the 'faulty' one with the remaining 4 ports.... They didn't ask for it back!
