With photoshop probably the way forward is to record an action (like a recording in a way) You do the steps needed on one image while recording the action, then you can run the action on a batch of images while you have a coffee and a sandwich.
In Bridge select the images you want worked on. Go to tools>photohop>image processor and put in there what you want it do do and it will run the batch for you. Have a coffee![]()
That is what I do in cs3. I found a really good video on YouTube by a guy called "laserbri" and it really helped me understand actions and simple batch processing.
Or, if it is just a simple Resize the Ali has hit the nail on the head.
Have you not got the software that came with the camera I see you have a 50D
You can batch process with digital photo proffesional (DPP) that will be on the disc.
Call me thick....but how do I record the action .....
It's fun when you start learning how do do stuff like this.
Just give it 6 months and have a look at your actions and presets and see how much of a processing geek you have become lol
Now here's a tricky bit. Once you get a few actions you really don't want to lose them if you suffer a crash. The good news is that you can actually back up the actions
It's called your .atn file and you find it in your photoshop directory. Once you have a bit of a collection it is well worth regularly keeping a copy of that file. if you ever need to reinstall photoshop you can get them all back.
Current actions are kept in a file called "Actions Palette.psp" that is located in the preferences folder. It is still best to go to the Action Palette, make sure it is not in button mode and select each actionset in turn and save them whereever you want, these will be .atn files.
i use faststone photo resizer for all my resizing and watermarking...
