Play.....running is play ?? I'll take your word for that one.....but they are seriously muddy trainers !
The 2nd shot for play show's some great timing , groovy green bg as well , given your restrictions I think it's worked well :)

I love the picture but I don't see 'close', I see 'open'; it's a personal thing.
 
Lovely macro shot, nice and crisp with good DoF, and interesting textures and muted colours.

Martin - I know it is a stretch - most of them are not closed - they are open

Cowboy - as Martin said - indeed they are Pistachio nuts - the 'closed' ones always annoy me!
 
Tend to agree with the others - the bubbles are not easily spotted - but a nice photo all the same ;)

Bubble - nice record shot, but can't see any bubbles. Unless it's a satirical comment on the state of the church!
 
Mike, I had to study this, it just didn't look right :confused: then I realised that only the 'Fumer tue' was reversed :)

The theme is how you interpret it, so yes, its on theme, clever pp, I like it (y)
 
Is it a mirror or PP'd? On theme but agree a bit tight in the frame - but, I am big lover of negative space

Smoke & Mirrors is a cracking book by Tanya Huff.....:)

I'm liking this shot though I'm a touch bemused as to why the Fumer Tue is the only writing still in mirror image :thinking: ( I'm feeling more dim than usual I suspect !) Nicely lit though :)
Minor niggle....it's not quite lined up 100%....you can just see top n bottom edges are a smidge out ?
