any one here use msn much~??

well i do and a few friends say i send them messages when im not even there and i send them files.....?

now i guess this is a virus does any one else have the same prob??

Loads of people have MSN viruses, its a pain in the backside whenever I go on as I get people sending me 'photos' every 30 seconds

It usually happens when you click one of those "See who blocked you on MSN" type websites.

Get a new MSN account.

You could try changing your password, but I doubt that'll work

Start PC in safe mode, run anti virus and clear up anything obviously wrong (MSN received files folder might be a good place to start)

maybe try a registry editor like amlsoft or eusing to clear out anything that lingers

Hi,

You could try "Spyware detector" or "Spyware Doctor". I had a similar thing and these sorted it out.

i used spybot didnt sort it i have yahoo spyware didnt sort it how much is that software?

I'd guess it's online based to be honest.

I assume you filled out one of those forms I mentioned earlier?

I use (all free) SUPER Anti Spyware, Spybot and Malware's to sort out any infections, Eusing and AMLSoft to clean up any weird reg entries and SOPHOS (thank's Uni) to try and stop anything getting onto my PC

its usually local, and you normally get it when receiving a similar message with file from a friend and opening said file

well they are viral yeah but they are more anoying than damaging, spyspot search and destroy gets rid of it, it spreads by people being daft enough to click links that appear, that say things like *website* see my cool NYE pics i took, then you have it and will send it from your msn addy even when your not online, then the next person opens it the same thing happens again, its more likely to be spywhere in it than a virus per say

the easiest protection is dont click on the links when they appear and ask the person sending it if they have actually sent it because they cant see that they have

I would have thought that would be be obvious - obviously not, since the thing keeps going around
