Just to be slightly different, as i own a motorbike. Im currently averaging 115-135mpg, works out to roughly 400 miles per £15 tank fill up.

I've just checked mine, 26mpg from a suzuki swift sport. Used to have an average of 32 regardless of how it was driven.

Must have a lead foot atm..
 
I think I did even better today out on track! :lol: must have been at least 8mpg :D

58-60mpg. Mondeo ST TDCi, decat, MIJ mid sport performance exhaust, Airtec intercooler, Forge Motorsport silicone boost hoses and induction pipe, AmD remap. 190bhp & 326.5 lb/ft torque, I'd probably get more but I just can't resist opening it up from time to time. Get's over 700 miles per tank with ease before the fuel light comes on.:thumbs:

Interesting, I've one of these- as a diesel, I was expecting some impressive figures but even driving like a saint I can only get 39mpg:eek:

I've long given up on fast cars and bikes- the cost of ownership is ridiculous these days and the roads are such a state that it just wrecks them anyway. I now choose to throw money away on photography equipment instead:lol:
 
Driving an Avensis 1.8 and get over 40mpg around the houses if I drive like Capt Slow.
 
I used to have a Land Rover Defender 90 TD5 - didn't matter how I drove, where I was driving or what grade of fuel I used, or if I was towing, it was always 33 MPG. If it dipped slightly I knew is was service time. This only ever changed if I did over 65 MPH on the motorway into the wind, when I could actually see the fuel gauge moving :eek:

I've since bought a 55 plate Mondeo TDCI 130 Estate, with galactic mileage. The idler pulley/tensioner rattles like hell at tickover but its super smooth, especially on the motorway, and is returning a steady 46 MPH average about town, and when on a run it's doing at least 65 MPG. This I like.

I once got 8mpg from a Nissan 200SX turbo (modified with hybrid turbo, intercooler and chip mod). I had a set of new wheels and tyres so spent the weekend ruining the old ones... It was the early 90s and it was acceptable behaviour then.
 
I have more than one car ...

Boxster S - best is 35mpg (Bristol to Edinburgh on one tank), typical commuting is 25mpg

VW T25 syncro - 22mpg on runs, dropping to 20mpg when towing and 18 or less if I use it for commuting / short journeys

Singer Chamois - depends on what engine is fitted. If I use an 875 or 930 on the Solex carb I can get 50mpg, probably more with an SU (or two), but the 998 on twin 40DCOEs manages about 26 pootling around off cam (i.e. below 5000rpm) and much less if I open it up a bit ..

Davrian - 6mpg on full chat. It has a 998cc Imp race engine and is only used in competition, so only gets driven flat out, up-shifting at 9000rpm.

Clan Crusader - unknown. The engine is on the floor next to it at the moment so I haven't driven it yet!

Needs at least another 1000 :D

Valves bounce at 10200 on mine. Not saying how I found that out :lol:. I rarely use more than about 9000 as the power starts to fall off.

Mine is a mixture of urban and motorway driving. I avoid getting stuck in traffic or town driving if I can, I prefer to be moving. :lol:
Even in the winter mine hasn't dropped below 52-55 average over a tankful.
Because of the extra torque etc., I only give the car a good blast from time to time, just to clear any carbon build up, the rest of the time it accelerates more than fast enough with just normal throttle use.

The crank will rev safely to 9000, over that it needs a fair bit of work :lol:

That's a handy amount of power for a little car. Is it a supercharger in the old fashioned sense, belt driven, always running? The torque seems relatively low.

Co-incedently, I got an all time high of 39mpg from my Transit 85. :D
 
My old Fiesta RS Turbo used to regularly average less than 10mpg on good days.

Was fitted with a 2.1 Zetec Turbo engine though, approx 290bhp/280lbs/ft. Horrendous fuel costs and six broken gearboxes in 12 months brought my ownership to a swift end.

Yup belt driven SC, torques not to bad as only an ickle engine and very little SC for the economy.

Some other very impressive figures and machinery in this post :)
 
Sounds very similar to my wifes 1.2 turbo Clio. Just over 100bhp and can get pretty good mpg on a long run.

My old RX8 however used to average 16mpg to work :( Was fun though.
 
Absolutely no idea - I just fill it to the top (about £70 worth) so I dont look at how many litres and it lasts about 300 miles if I sensibly motorway drive (constant 85mph). If I zoom about a bit it doesnt go as far.

Usually 33-35mpg from my Leon Cupra R on runs. Had it as low as 14mpg on a sprint between Rugby and Dav, and up to 43mpg coming back at a nice tootle from Skegness :)

That's around 25-26mpg approx, obviously depends on what petrol prices are like near you. Marginally worse than mine on the motorway as I get about 28-30 if I'm making good progress rather than pootling along.

If it's the same car that you had at the studio lighting day organised through the TP meet forum in Wales around this time last year then that sounds about right. n/a 3.2l flat six wins slightly over turbocharged 2l 4-pot on economy, yours probably wins on power though...
 
Just got the New Passat 1.6tdi and averaging 66mpg so far:thumbs:, should get better hopefully as it gets a few more miles on it

55 mpg out of a Octavia vRS Tdi CR DSG (to give it its full title) without trying to hard on the commute to and from work. Sure I could add a bit more to it if I really set my mind to it.

Yep I still have the same car - love my scoobie too much to get rid of it - though I could do with a new car I just dont like the feel of the new scoobies. 2.5l turbo though mine is.
