Hi, thinking of buying a used canon lens from MPB Photography , is this a good idea , has any one bought from MPB .
Thanks

I have bought from and also sold items to MPB, in both of my dealings with them they were very customer focussed. :)

I have both bought and sold to them, even went down to their place in Brighton. They couldn't be more accommodating and friendly. Would not hesitate to buy/sell from them again.

Be better if this was posted in the Shoppers, Suppliers and Bargains sub forum.

Thanks every one , always nice to here from others before spending my money . Now got to decide whether to go for the canon 100mm macro or sigma 105mm or tamron 90mm.
Is the canon worth £100 more or are they much the same.

I have also bought from them and sold items to them. Really good service. Also, when I have a problem with an item they were quick to get it sorted out for me.

In magazine group tests, the Tamron and Sigma both seem to be at least as good as the Canon. I only upgraded from a Tamron to a Nikkor for faster AF (my Tamron was an old, screw driven one) and VR for when I use it as a short tele.

Used them myself several times no issues.

I part exchanged a Sigma 120-400 OS for a Canon 300 f4L IS just before Christmas and I couldn't be more pleased with the transaction. They arranged collection on the same day I called them as it was the last day they were accepting collections before Christmas and emailed me early in the day to arrange payment and delivery so I got it before Christmas. They really went that extra yard for me, the service was excellent and they were very friendly. I've bought and sold before from them and wouldn't hesitate to do so again. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Good company, shoudl probably be in shopping though where youll also find more testimonials.

Don't they advertise on here, somewhere? As said already, an excellent company to deal with.

Bought and sold through them many times with only one issue.
I bought a D2X that was advertised as 'with box, strap and spare battery' but they weren't received so gave them a quick call and the extra bits were delivered next day.

I think it's pretty well nailed on that they are not far off the best used suppliers on the tinterweb. Great prices too from my dealings with them, they don't seem to add massive mark ups like some others.

Put it this way. I went to them to trade in some kit - one item being a Tamron 17-50 bought from simplyelectronics.com

Although it was 100% kosher they knocked it back stating that due to the nature of the seller they couldn't be absolutely sure that VAT had been paid on the item when purchased so they wouldn't touch it.

Bodes well for the integrity of MPB if nothing else.

I completed a massive part-ex deal with them just before Xmas - very impressed! Would have no hesitation in using again :)

As already been said I have bought from them & would do so again without hesitation :)

Another vote for MPB - ordered a D2X on Thursday evening and camera arrived 9am Yesterday - really well packaged with all the original Nikon accessories (was worried might get a 3rd party battery as ad did not make this clear) and camera in better condition than expected from ad. They even texted me the 1 hour expected delivery slot. Not used them before but will use again I expect.
