Anyone on here had any experience of purchasing from these guys? There's a couple of items I'm looking at getting, and having been watching eBay for the last week or so and eBay only seems to be <10% cheaper (sometimes more!) whereas MPB stuff has a warranty.
Bought a couple of lenses and chopped my D300s in for a D700 there, no complaints from me. Never needed to use the warranty but do have a read of it on the terms & conditions page, what's not covered includes "faults relating to image sharpness of a lens that is clearly open to human judgement" - wouldn't like to have to argue that one!
yep bought a 40d couple of weeks back, superb service and similar to your thinking eBay prices were comparable so the 6 month warranty with MPB was the smart choice... plus you know a professional has given the gear a once over and cleaned if needed..
I have purchased quite few items from them, never had to use the warranty.
Very quick, infact if you have oredered yours then its most likly you are using it...
Just wish the chap in charge would be a little more happer when answering the phone..
I've had a good experience with them too - generally quick to respond to emails and helpful. I have a problem with my 70-200 2.8 but they seem to be happy to sort it out under the warranty.
I bought a lens and a t/c from them last summer and chopped in my 30d against a 50d recently. Prices and part ex allowances are pretty reasonable. Condition has always been as descibed or better than listed on the site. Pick up and delivery times have generally been quick.
Bought loads from Matt. As the guys said you can buy from MPB with complete confidence. Turnaround has never been greater than 24 hours for me. You won't be disappointed.
Same as everyone above - I've purchased a couple of items from MPB and never had any complaints whatsoever. Items have been in excellent condition and postage has always been spot-on. You wouldn't know that half of it is second-hand.
Got a very expensive lens from them and when it went wrong they paid for it to be repaired (and at a great cost) by a Canon certified repair centre very quickly and hassle free.
I bought Tokina for Canon few months ago & the service was brilliant. My choice getting it from them is that lens comes with that warranty. It helps, as micloi expressed his experience.
I bought a battery grip for my camera from them this week (Birthday present from the wife). Loads cheaper price than anywhere else and 6 month warranty. Arrived next day and it looked brand new, more than pleased with their service.
Had some problems with ordering. The payment came back as failed but the money was showing as allocated by my bank. When I called my bank they weren't much help. Just said that the payment was authorised and gave me the auth number. Called MBP back and they were very helpfull. They called the people that do their payments and then called me back within minutes saying that the bank could de-allocated the money. When I then called the bank back and told them what had been said they got the funds available almost immediately.
Another call to MBP and the payment went through perfectly. Now just need to keep an eye on the account to make sure the payment does not get taken twice
The lens was labelled as Exc++ and it turned up fully boxed as if new. Cannot find a single mark on the lens anywhere. Just a couple of slight small scuffs to the lens hood.
Most impressed with the level of service from MBP (Matt) and would definately use them again.
