Have been asked to make up a CD for a very good friends mum's funeral......... all 3 tracks downloaded legally from Amazon!

What i am now struggling with is

a) what format

and

b) how

to convert a MP3 to something that will play on a bulk standard cd player. Any help gratefully received.

iTunes or Windows Media Player will be fine, no format to worry about its just a 'burn to' or 'create cd' option, it is pretty straight forward although IIRC with iTunes you now have to create a playlist and then 'make cd from playlist' its still straight forward though albeit with one extra unnecessary step.

not an appleite so will do WMP.. Thanks for the quick reply. :-)

bloody well doesn't. Heap of s*** windoze!

If if's of any help I need to convert 3 x MP3 files to put on a CD that can play it in CD format , i.e. not MP3, but "buy an album on cd from hmv" and bung it in a cd player format that will work on a bulk standard no fancy files mp3 player.

Can you see if the CD player has a usb port? My one has one that I can attach my phone to and play from that. That way you can play the music from Amazon Cloud without having to faff around with burning. I've had the same issues with Media Player and CDs.

I think that the track from Amazon are already in MP3 files,so just burning to an CD should play in any player, but some very old player may not read an MP3 CD :)

We've had this problem. My son has a little children's CD player. We used to be able to burn tracks or copy discs so he cvoul!d play them on it, so he didn't scratch the original discs. I spent a whole afternoon trying everything but they just would not play. So I gave up an we got him a kiddi go media player which is vtechs version of, well a media player.

Regarding the tracks perhaps you could ask the church if you could take a look at their set up. Explain the situation and see if their player has a aux/microphone socket. If it has its just a matter of hooking a phone or iPod etc to it. Headphone socket to aux.

Windows version of iTunes? I'm sure there is a create cd option but you have to make sure its set to music cd. Alternatively use an MP3 to wav converter as wav format files are what a cd is made from. The burner software should give you the option to create a music cd.

You just need to burn it as an audio format, I just use the Samsung software that came with my CD but there are plenty that will do it.While some of the portable players say they will play MP3, that is not always the case.

all sorted Cd and backup and a 16Gb SD card with every conceivable bloody format on it. Thanks for your help guys, and sorry for being a bit of an ar$e earlier, but a really good friend! :-)
