MP3/MPEG Player Help

I would like to treat my stepson to a mp3/mpeg player tommorow as his little mp3 player has just given up the ghost. Obviously like all other things in life there is a miriad of choice :shrug: So has anybody got any suggestions to go on? Not sure if an Ap.le is the choice or what But if I had a list of makes models that anyone has had for a while and has been reliable,decent quality, decent storage etc, then it would probably leave me feeling less confused My budget will be about £100. I know this might sound a lot but he is 17, good as gold even though I keep him in check sometimes :nono: and he never really wants for anything.

At the end of the day i think it should come down to what he wants, unless you really want to supprise him. If his is broken chances are he'll already know what he wants im sure.

They are all much of a muchness really, if it looks and feels cheap and has a name that sounds like a big brand then it will be cheaply made. Ap.le, Zen, Samsung and Sony, are the big players and hare a wide selection of good products.

I've a sandisk Sansa and can't fault it. I've got the 2GB version with optional 2GB micro SD facility. does everything I need, although I believe there are other sizes available.

I'd recommend a Sansa Clip plus, excellent reviews, infact that good I bought one for my son

I'd also get some headphones as only Sony seem to supply decent ones with their kit.

I've got a Creative Zen somthing or other - got it in 2007 so it's an older model but still going strong.

I've got one of those, still trying to fill it up
Downside is it is quite tiny, very comfy to use but also very easy to put down and lose
