Anyone here got this lens? do you have any examples of work from it? I'm very tempted by it. Thanks!!

I think there are several people on here have the MP-E I have had mine about a month and its a fantastic lens, this is the last shot I took on Saturday with it http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=36372
The only thing I will say about it is that I think for anything over 2x you should consider a macro ring or a flash bracket.

Edit: It also takes a hell of a lot of getting use to, the DOF is tiny, but once you get the hang of it it's a lot of fun.

nice! I'm thinking the Canon macro twinlite as I don't really like ring flash. Ive loved the look of it for ages but haven't been able to justify the expense on something so specialised but I think it'd be a great addition now for my wildlife stuff and I think bugs are amazing close up.

I bought the mt24ex twinlight and its an awesome piece of kit yes it is expensive but well worth it, I like the ratio lighting setting for it which does improve the shot, the only problem I have found with it is the flash units can get in the way of getting the shot sometimes.

I can only second what Scraggs has said. Fantastic piece of kit, takes a lot of patience but the rewards will be stunning when you've mastered it...I haven't yet but, like Scraggs, I've only had it a few weeks.

A ring flash is an essential extra and should be factored in with your spending along with a focus rail.....magnification changes with focus so focus stacking really requires one. My embarassing early trials show that it's easier to use on a crop body than a full frame but this may simply be the "lumpus impatiens" just behind the camera.

I say go for it...we need a few guys groping around with this to start idea swapping.....the dining room table on cold winters nights looks to be the best place.

I'd do a little trigonometry with your twinlight to see if you can get the light in the right place at the higher mag levels.
