MP calls for a ban on curtains if he is made to declare his tax returns!

In Norway everyone's tax returns are public record and are published in the local newspapers i believe.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a Tory MP with a large majority must be in want of a brain.

(with apologies to J. Austin)

I wish he got them band earlier. I bloody hate curtain but the mrs likes them. I'm sure you can guess who won that argument. My balance is a good few £ lighter and they look s***!

With a bit of luck it will be curtains for this corrupt government .

I am all for it. I have some very good looking neighbours. With ground level bedrooms.

The fella's quite right, this nothing to hide malarky has gone far too far!

It's a lovely piece of misdirection.

  1. Papers reveal that the Cameron dynasty has been doing dodgy stuff for ages.
  2. D. Cameron denies it.
  3. D. Cameron says he doesn't do it and never will.
  4. D. Cameron says "oh in the past? Well, obviously I did it in the past, nothing illegal in it."
  5. Papers have a field day. Because if there's one thing they love more than a cheat it's a liar.
  6. D Cameron releases his tax returns.
  7. All of a sudden, anybody who doesn't publish their tax returns is some kind of tax cheat. Despite the fact that up to that point the person publishing them was the one branded a tax cheat.
It's like the spin doctors took last week off and suddenly turned up for work this morning going like "did you miss us?"

Oh please.....To simply be replaced with another.
We can but hope Ruth, this idiot Charles Walker is unfortunately my local M P, personally I would rather see the Monster Raving Loony party in power than the lot we have at the moment.

I think anyone in public office should be transparent in their dealings, if they have any influence on the use of money raised from the likes of us then we should be able to see that they are not dodgy daves.

That said, this business of making tax returns public is a big red herring, you could have the cleanest tax return and still have pot loads of cash stashed abroad or invested in iffy schemes.

So, now folks are going to air their righteous indignation over things that "might" be?
Oh silly me...they already are.

Did you see the show he put on on daily politics show yesterday?
Followed by a wink to his fellow tory MP when he thought the camera wasn't on him.

Our MP Mark Garnier says that MP's disclosing their tax returns could put people off entering politics.

Nice admission of the pigs in the trough scenario there you prat.

Thought for the Day on R4 this morning. The lady doing it mentioned that in Norway (1) all tax returns are public information (2) some people a while back thought they should actually not have curtains so that nothing was hidden.

I'm honestly not sure if she was making it up as a dig at Mr Walker.
