Moving from Canon to Fuji to lighten the load - but which body?

The Kraken Wakes

Yes.
When and where?
But nothing that includes Northern Rail at weekends.
Must be coming up time for Virgin deals. We were talking about an overnight stay in Glasgow for long exposure stuff on the river.
Do you snore?

Is the AF on an X-T2 likely to be as good as on my old 1Dmk2?
I've shot British Superbikes, car racing and jet skiing on mine. Lots of keepers. Would have more if my technique was better. But AF is very good. There are stories of guys shooting Formula One with T2 gear.

My T2 has done a few hundred clicks only.....I came from D3. 10 or 11 years old and still going fine. Gone back to the same old Nikon system, albeit having to buy another lot.

My Fuji experience was VERY expensive - probably cost me £2000 for those few hundred clicks. It didn't suit me because I can't get on with the modern technology - not just cameras, any of it. The D3 / D4 I can just about cope with. I have no interest in going the D500 route, the crop sensor doesn't work with me either...and the D5 has a touch screen, so that's it out of the running. I DETEST TOUCH SCREENS - I have even goner back to a button only phone, a Nokia 3100. No camera, no internet - just phone calls and texcts (very occassional texts).

That is one of my concerns, but I am a bit of a geek and actually develop touch screens...

Do you have to fix them too? Or are they ready straight out of the developer?
It has been a while since I lurked in a darkroom, took me a while to get that!

Lewis, have you looked at the X-Pro2 body ?
No, will if LCE have one in though!

They’re getting an X-T20 in for me as they sold 4 this week!

I ended up going with the X-T2, it felt nice in my hands, anything smaller would have been too small.

To give us an idea of what is going on can we ask how much you paid? Reported offers for X-T2 seem inordinately low.
I've seen another forum reporting £350 being offered!!! That seems ludicrous.

I actually went with a new one. It was a straight swap for my 5d, 4 lenses and a flashgun.

Hi Frank,

I've reserved a mint one with LCE yesterday to trade in some canon gear. I'm paying £699.

Thanks Andy. Interesting what mark up they are putting on especially with the way prices seem to be plummeting for trade ins.
I suspect retailers are automatically knocking off the £200 Fuji bonus for those wanting to swap to the new T3. That's cheating in my book!
Think I might hold off from upgrading. If I wait a couple of years there will be a T4 and my T2 won't lose a great deal more value - certainly not as much as it seems to have done at present.

I did look at the xt3 but I don’t do, video, portraits or fast action so for me the money saved can go towards lenses.
