Recently watched Shutter - a horror movie that features a fly around the world fashion photographer. Generally a pretty crappy flick, but it was interesting to see some of the gear. He used something that looked like a Hasselblad as well as generous amounts of Nikon free advertising. Loads of Polaroids and P&S ones that his GF used.

Especially enjoyed a part of the film where a friend of his was shooting a model without a flash (or even a pop-up flash) with some Nikon, and everytime he took a shot, you'd see a flash go off :lol: He got it for abusing our superior photographic knowledge - his eyepiece explodes and he gets killed by glass in the eye. Nice. :clap:

Anyway - are there any other 'tog movies out there?
 
bridges of madison county (not seen it myself, but popular with the girlies)
some spy flick that had a secret service man taking pics of a couple ? Matthau ?
 
Blow Up - Classic film with David Hemmings - been a few threads on this one before I think :D Worth a watch!
 
We were Soldiers, Barry Pepper plays a war photographer in that.

On Hour Photo is great.

There was another one called Hard Candy. Shocking storyline, but I found it a really great film.

Good film and undoubtedly the inspiration for another famous movie 'tog.

Warping the topic slightly, not a movie but a book. When I was a kid, probably about 12-13 and first getting interested in photography my Mum handed me a book which she thought I'd enjoy. I wasn't at all sure it was my thing at the time :cuckoo: but once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I broadened my understanding of the darkroom immensly reading Dick Francis - Reflex. I wanted to become a pro from that point. Then when I left school the reality of having to pay board hit home :lol: and I took the easy option of doing something I already knew and I became a mechanic. :bang:
 
Some cool suggestions here - I've checked their reviews out and plan on getting my hands on Blowup , Bridges of Madison County and Hard Candy. I've seen One Hour Photo - great movie!

I remembered another flick with a photographer sub-theme - Kalifornia with Brad Pitt and Juliet Lewis.
 
BTW - watched Blowup last night.... absolutely awesome movie. Thanks guys!

not even the fact that wee 14 year old (or whatever) lassie was able to lift unconscious fully grown man from the floor onto a table all on her own? Or that she was then able to lift the, once again unconscious, guy up onto a chair, stand him up on said chair and then put a noose around his neck?

If she did that all on her lonesome then she's a great advertisement for Red Bull :lol:
