you think they might have wiped it off before filming or left that bit off the film.
at least in the OP's picture the guy is holding the slr correctly. apparently actors won't be told how to hold the camera, they always have their own ideas, hence the "slr as compact" style.
oh, has anyone else noticed that all the csi series and ncis all use nikon cameras. im assuming that nikon has got some sort of deal with them.

Has you ever watched the way the hold the cameras in NCIS?![]()
Would they not realise after the strain on their hands that a better way may be possible?![]()

I'm sure it applies to everything else remotely technical shown on TV/Film as well. We all know the ins and outs of photography so it's obvious when we see a 'mistake'.
The thing that really interests me in CSI New York is when they zoom into an image to some insane level to pick out a detail. They once zoomed into a skyscraper window to pick out a person stood in a room, I thought it was clearly ridiculous, and living in Wiltshire I couldn't get my head around how possible that would be. But we went to NYC the other week and when I got home I was staggered at how much detail you could pick out of individual skyscraper windows at night even though my shots were not specifically taken of them. Whilst they probably went a step too far for artistic purposes, it's certainly possible.

Any of the new wave of police/forensics are terrible; CSI, NCIS, Law and Order, Without a Trace.
Any 1 scene has loads of mistakes, but they are entertaining![]()
And then you have the case of the blurry picture made of about 100 pixels, "lets enhance it to see who it is" *preses a few keyboard buttons* and wouldn't you know the blurry mess becomes an almost perfect higher resolution face...
Wish my interpolation would do that! (That's one thing in films that really gets my goat!)![]()
