Hi all I am new to this great site so please forgive me if I have trouble finding my way around,I was wondering if anyone has had a good play with d3s as I'm thinking of letting my 4 year old d2x go and replacing it with the d3s hope you won't mind giving your opinions.

Well it's a D3 on steroids, make the change it will blow you away. Personally I use a D3 which in it's own right is right up there and a joy to use, the increased ISO performance of the D3s takes it to a league of its own, coupled with video and lots of other little add ones makes it something special. I would have one tomorrow but cost to benefit makes no sense to me as I have a D3 already. If I were buying new I would go for the D3s without question.

If you can find one - they're still not in stock with anyone I've seen.

I contemplated it myself, but in the end decided to opt for two D3 bodies (and one D3x body) instead as the additional 3 stops at the high-iso-end and the HD-video capability didn't add up to the money saved by going with the 'older' model.

I own 2 D300's which are very good cameras but obviously not in the same league as the D3 series. I've had a play with a D3s and all I can say is wow wow wow. It is just an awesome camera. If I ever came in to money then getting a D3s would be higher up the to do list than anything else.
