Hi all.

Im after some mounts for a team photo, and I would like the player names and some text printed onto the mount. Does anyone know where this can be done? I did do a search, but couldn't find an answer. I don't really want it printed on paper to lay over the top, it must be on the mount.

Thanks in advance

Usually there is an aperture cut in the mount to enable a text print to be stuck to the back of the mount so it can be read from the front. I don't know of anywhere that would print onto the mount though

There are companies out there that can foil block details onto mounts

OK thanks, I think I will go for the 2nd aperture. They seem to be quite cheap. Anyone know of carters mounts?

Lordy, foil blocking still around? used to use it in the early 1970's for point of sale display boards.

Yup certainly is. Hey '70's is all the rage - get retro!! I will stop at the Orange crushed velvet loon pants though.

As the first answer in the thread states - the overwhelmingly most popular way of doing this is to have a separate caption aperture cut into the mount.

Not in my experience , but hey ho, each to their own...................

You could also consider designing the photo to incorporate the text - and then use a regular strut or slip in mount...?

Thanks

I've decided to go for a second aperture below with the text inside

Now here's a man with some common sense!!

Well in my experience i.e. the owner of a picture framing company, it is.

Respectfully I will say , that in my experience of dealing with Event Photographers , who are a massive consumer of mounts.

Sorry.

Maybe it's because we always try to upsell them to the most expensive method

Just started doing engraved brass plaques too - just to eek a bit more cash out of them :D

If you really want to get more cash - offer to do the groups like this - and you can still get standard strut mounts. It also means you don't have to pay for mounts to be blocked - nor buy extras in case more want etc

Holy Cow!! What a presentation!! It's all going on! :)

Funnily enough it is for a hockey team!

Didn't you know I was telepathic?!

You might need to change the design to suit UK eyes - however these kind of groups need to appeal to the people in the photo - youth teams of 14 year olds etc will just love these!

These layouts - I print them at 12x16 on very high gloss paper - are very popular..... You just have to put yourself into the mindset of the kids.. easy for me as I never grew out of it!

Well, it's for seniors, so a plain old team photo! Although I did do a poster as well with individual players around the outside with names and numbers etc.
