Yes
just taken delivery of my new 70-300mm Nikon lens and i'm itching to get out and snap some motorsport piccies.

Anyone got any ideas of stuff that's coming up soon? prefereably in the West Midlands or Oxfordshire (as I work there)
I don't mind what type, formula or what level it is or if it's competitive or just testing...

Cheers!
James.

and closer than silverstone. I'm going to Santa Pod to see the easter thunderball on the 13th. (hope the weather's good).

The HORIBA d'isis Rally at MIRA on Saturday looks like a good'un anyone been before? pleanty of old stuff there (6R4s, MKI & II Escorts, Opel Mantas, Datsuns and minis Aswell as some newer stuff).

where you from jammy, im close enough to mira that i can hear cars going round the track lol, so this looks apealing to me. either that or on friday at donington there is a track day that im going to go to.

just found out the meet at MIRA does NOT allow spectators because of where it is held.

I'm from Rugby, think it's about 12miles to MIRA from my house. something like that.

I know this won't make you feel any better at the moment but yes due to the nature of the business in MIRA it is not open to the general public / spectators, I believe there are only 3 of us allowed into the venue to photograph.

If you are interested the Rally of the Midlands is on in June, weekend of the 19th / 20th which also uses MIRA (non spectator) but also uses Bramcote, Merevale, Mallory and a stage in the town centre on the Friday evening. More details for spectators will be added to the event website in due course or if anyone wants to know any more just ask as I'm media officer for the event.

If you fancy something a bit different, there are a few events on this Sunday around the Midlands.

Historic saloons at Donington
Buxton Raceway have an event on
Autograss racing - Leicester
Championship round at Mallory Park

thanks guys for both replys, soon as i saw that there was an event at MIRA i knew that it wouldnt allow spectators, to much high profile stuff happens there, ive seen numerous cars pre release in camo gear driving from there so there not going to let jo public in lol
