Motorbikes

I had my bikes ECU reprogrammed at Hilltop Motorcycles today, expensive but based on my ride home through the peak district worth every penny. The usual GS flat spot has gone and there is definitely more power, not a huge amount more but very welcome. The best thing by far is the power delivery and throttle response, the bike is soooo much smooooother to ride - the way it should have been in the first place!

Mr Hilltop suggested replacing the plugs as he thought there was an intermittent misfire, he also applied the two latest software updates that were missing. That's annoying as I had it serviced last month at a main dealer :/

Really nice guy and clearly extremely knowledgeable, a big thumbs up from me :)

Today I feel old! When did spark plugs start having two electrodes ?!?!?!?!

Need a lie down ...

PS - how do you gap them?

Ah... Hope they can sort it out for you.
I've got some BikeVis Bullets which do the job well, and they do a LED strip which may be worth a look if Barkbusters don't help -
They seem very helpful from my dealings with them.

I am going to get some of these because the second set of Barkbusters I was sent have just failed too. Whilst they make awesome hand guards, their lights are trash!

Nigel Mansell’s son Greg is marketing an interesting custom edition of the BMW R18.

Hmmm - would be interesting to see how it compares to the standard one in real life.
While the Big K was having new tyres at the dealers last week I was having a look round and they had one in the showroom and the first thought was that in reality it doesn’t look half as imposing as all the publicity pics make out. Nearly walked right past it.......

That BMW monstrosity looks even very uncomfortable to ride, they should stick with what they know....

Having been off bikes since 2014 following a bad accident, have just had a test ride and ordered an Enfield meteor 350 fireball in yellow.
By no means quick but suits me to get some long missed freedom.
Can’t wait.

Going fast isn't my priority either, enjoying myself on a bike is - looks like you'll be doing the same too !

Cheers guys. Waiting for the container to arrive with the bikes in. Still fallout from the log jam in the Panama Canal apparently!
Just as long as you’re not having to depend on someone riding over from Egypt! :)

Smileys missing from end of my last post for some reason?

Enjoy the RE, Paul.

not been on my bike in 11 days due to a family holiday...sort that out tomorrow with a couple of hundred miles in the peak district..got some new race boots saturday that need breaking in

Awesome! This is what I’ve got lined up.

Hmm. I just went to the post office. My shoulder is bad again despite the operation 18 months ago - seems I've torn a tendon, and reaching out to the handlebars is a painful struggle. Looks like I won't be riding much for the next few months as I have to have an operation on each foot first so will on crutches for a good few weeks first..

I’m so sorry to hear that Steve. Get well soon.

Not long after announcing the upcoming Tiger 660, today Triumph published some shots of a disguised new Tiger 1200 undergoing testing.

Hope you made it to a garage ok
Haven’t got anything so sophisticated on my bikes but the Z750 does have a Petrol tank fuel level indicator so I just fill up when I get to one bar
Even my old Yamaha RD has a trip so I just fill up when it gets over 100 miles

Yep, I took that on the forecourt of the Shell Fuel Station.
At least I know that I can rely on the fuel gauge.

I always thought it would be really cool to roll into a petrol station just as you ran out of fuel.
I did it once many years ago. It was a Sunday and the place was closed......... :D

I treated myself. Picked it up last Saturday and have put 450 miles on the clock so far.
