A very sad day indeed, RIP Marco.

I witnessed a rider many years ago over here, cannot remember which track it was or who he was. He came down over the brow of the circuit and down around a left hander, this is where he came off. He stood up and brushed himself off, his mistake was he took one pace backwards and was taken clean out. Shall never forget that, but these things happen unfortunately.

Reading press reports on this I'm pretty appalled by the distasteful behaviour of the 'fans' at the racetrack, who apparently became impatient waiting for the re start (which of course never happened) and started throwing bottles and debris onto the track from the grand stands.

Shameful.

I saw this too and like you say very distateful, I could not understand why, so the race was taking a long time to restart, but they have massive screens to look at so surely they have seen what occured.

If you do not want to watch it do not click on it, It is a sad day for all but taking it down will not solve anything as you can go to 100's oif places to see it. We never took the ones down if the indie driver so where is the difference???

Indeed, it's still available to watch on BBc iplayer if you feel inclined..

From what the bbc commentators said they weren't telling the spectators anything about the incident.

I have seen it many times, thank you. I am a big Moto GP fan and also a big Marco fan and still find it hard to comprehend he will race no more.

I was just stating facts that no one asked for the other one to be taken down. so like I said if you do not want to see it do not watch it, same as people who watch a whole program then moan like hell at what they saw, ther is always an off button, and we all have a choice.

Anyway its down now so everyone is happy,

I was agreeing with you.

Appreciated. I didn't click on the link. I watched it live. If people want to go search for it fair enough.

Which was the reason I posted it up Tori. Having searched to begin with every link I came across had it took down. Anyway`s end of now I thinks.

It doesn't solve anything Spike and I agree on the don't click on it thing but in this day and age if people want to see a man dying, let them search for it on Google I say fella.

Hopefully it will make people think about it before typing in something to a search engine.

Am totally stunned, what a tragic waste of a huge talent. A real loss to his family and motogp, RIP Marco.
Our thoughts are with his parents, and I can't imagine how poor Colin and Valentino are feeling as they were both close with Marco.

iv not missed a race for 5years and can remember when Simoncelli came up to join the big boys.
i was watching this race live and asoon as his helmet came off i knew it was bad news.

RIP Marco :'(

Very sad day.

He was indeed a character & will be greatly missed by all.

I haven't watched & don't want to - people should be left in peace. But from what I've read / heard, Rossi & Edwards had no choice. But no doubt it will effect both of them, for a very long time.

That is one crash I never want to see replayed :(

Rossi's body language as he rode off looking back and Edwards stood at side of track actually had me in tears. So sad.

just come in from work ,i had no idea about this tragedy absolutely stunned ,i normally watch it on bbc iplayer looks like they've pulled it from their listings .

Echoing the words of everyone else. Such a sad day for Moto GP.
He was a great rider, it is devastating it was brought to such a tragic end so soon.
RIP Simoncelli

Ride free forever Marco

Whilst horrific and totally gutted as a fan of GP500/Motogp for some 25 years (Never missed a race yet) I take some comfort in knowing that Marco managed to squeeze more into his 24 years than most of us would if we lived to 100.

Thoughts and prayers go out to his family, his team and the whole paddock especially Edwards and Rossi who are will be besides themselves tonight.

The last round of the season in Valencia will be incredibly emotional...

RIP Supersic, keep it nailed up there fella.

Cuttingly if he hadn’t been so talented he may have let it go rather than try and save it so well.

Too true. Tracks are a dangerous place, I've done a few trackdays and the worst part is when it gets red flagged and an ambulance goes out.

A mate of mine died this year on his bike and this does remind me of the loss back in January.

RIP Marco.
