So what did we do for our Mothers today?

I gave her a framed 12x8 shot from my recent sunrise expedition to Scarborough, she was very pleased. I gave her the option of several frames and shots to choose from but she picked what I thought she would anyway.

A set of glass coasters with photo holders underneath. I used some of my bluebell pictures in the holders at present but they can be changed at any time so if she wants I'll just print out another set.

My son's and I went to Brands Hatch for the weekend for the BTCC and we left her at home.

The kids made cards and gifts at school, so easy enough.

Ordered a photobook from Artscow to be delivered to the MIL in the US about 7 weeks ago and that turned up the day before, so I gto SIL of the year, and only cost about £2.50 ;)

not such a good day for me having lost my Mum mid Feb so yesterday was one of those first time without times you have to get through when you lose someone..

me and the kids got the Wife a Kindle which she was proper chuffed about and mid morning time I picked myself up and we took a surprise drive to StratfordUA to see her Mum which helped a bit.

it was a sailing day for my siblings...so I drove everyone, and pulled the boat trailer both ways along arduous roads...about 130 miles in total. :P Proper prezzie's coming once I can think of it...

a bit like valentines day, another retail industry generated revenue spinner for something that should be done all year around not just one specific day.

that said, i got her some chocs and went over for a cuppa.

Both Mothering Sunday and St. Valentines day are Christian festivals so are not generated by the retail industry. They are are over hyped by this industry to maximise sales though.

okay maybe but which probably means they were festivals from other religions that christianity stole.. ;)

(but thats a conversation thats against the rules)
