Yesterday I bumped into a bunch of fellow locals who did some street photography in the city centre...my Mamiya M645J brought some balance to the digital stuff they were carrying...
Thanks for the inof. Anybody tried C41 B&W at Asda?
Ive yet to bump Into somebody carrying a medium format camera funnily enough
Was strolling around Greenwich on Saturday, turned a corner and there was a mob with all sorts of film cameras.... wonderful collection by the looks of it.
I would have gone over for a chat, but some of them looked a bit unstable.
I swear I overheard one look at my digital camera and whisper 'burn the heretic' to another. So, I backed away slowly and legged it.

I went across to take a shot of the scene on their lcd screen then explained that i was unable to show them the result as it was shot on film.
With that the eldest lad pulled out a well used and battered but still operational OM-1 from his camera bag whilst explaining that he'd taken a very similar photo himself.
Unfortuanatley he felt that his camera was "Mosh" and although he enjoyed using it, he also felt embarassed to show it off because of ridicule from his mates.
Nonethless at 15 years old they had already got a fantastic understanding of photography and had played around at being creative including doing star trails on film.......In addition, they had taught themselves purely through books, internet and practice.
Long live film, here we are top marks if anyone can identify the camera.
I could barely tell that was a camera!

I have a much loved Pentax film camera collection. I always try to take something with me. I often bump into other film users and many are students for whom ghe K1000 and MX are often course first choice.
Was out yesterday in the depths of Somerset with my favourite big pocket camera. A Pentax MX with 40mm Pancake M lens.
On my travels a few were surprised at the size of the camera.
Its nice to have a film camera to keep me focussed (excuse the pun) on having just 36 frames.
Bit of a result. Saw a sign for a jumble sale and so dived in.
Found a Canon EOS300V no lend or batteries but with body cap. Clean body and looked ok. Could nkt check it but was a no brainer when I asked the price....£3!!!!! At home stuck some CD2 batteries and an old 50mm prime lens and a the right noises and clicks heard.
Hoping to get out with it loaded with film. Might have a 655 day yoo!
I love film but I enjoy ghd ease digital gives me.
Might be worth hitting the jumble sales!

Ouch !! In 1976 when I saw the F2 for the first time I thought it was the best looking camera ever. Not changed my mind. (I know it's not an F3 but not dissimilar)
Then the MF boys turn up and all bets are off!

Sounds like fighting talk that. My money would still be on the F2.
