Hi,

I've just spent a fun couple of hours reading some posts on the Film thread, and thought it'd be a good idea to get involved. I haven't as yet joined any other photography forums, but I'm looking forward to making a contribution here - everybody seems friendly, which makes a nice change from other (non-photo) forums .

A bit about me - middle-aged bloke who has too many cameras (16 or so film ones - bought cheaply off that auction site) and not enough interesting photos - soon to change hopefully.

My dad was into photography when I was growing up, and a couple of years ago I bought a Yashica III rangefinder in a secondhand shop on a whim, and since then it has escalated, but now I generally stick with an Olympus OM2n, a Nikon FE2 and a Zorki 4k, the others I'm going to pass on to friends/family/second-hand shops.

I much prefer film, but I do have a Panasonic LX5 compact which is fun.

That's me - and looking forward to jumping into the forums.

. . . Funnily enough that's what the rest of them in there say too
(Well, except for the few who have chosen to embrace their insanity, but it's OK we only let them free on the forum at weekends)

16 or so cameras.... damn it i am jealous already.. film is something i would really love to give ago so i shall be secretly sitting in the corners soon digesting lots of info!...

Thanks Cg! Are you tempted to try a film camera? - you should be able to pick up a decent one for £20-£30 or so to see if you like it.

Sorry for such a late reply... sage/onion do you have a preference to which you are called?

As to film, yes i really would love to give it a try, i've been lent/given an old film camera i just need to find where to get some film from, whether there is a best one to go for etc.... but certainly something i want to try
