Now you know what its like, you've just finished work, get home, log on to ebay in the hope of a good find......

and........ I think I got one.

So my questions are is the Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8-4 DG (only used 3x for the outlay of 40 dabs) a good find?

Is it better quality and therefore should I use it over my Canon 18-55 f/3.5- 5.6 IS?

Forgiveness sought if this is yet another stupid question :gag:

Mmmm....my 2p worth is....is it a soft lens?

Ask for sample images taken with it, as it could be soft. Sigma have been dogged with quality control issues, although someone mentioned on another thread that they do not exist in recent times.

I guess you have the protection of Paypal and to an extent would have to take the seller's word for it, but the images would give an idea as to image quality although they could of course have been lifted from elsewhere :naughty:

I THOUGHT THE SIGMA 28-70 WAS A FIXED F2.8??(excuse the caps)

if it is that one, it is supposed to be quite comparable to the 24-70 in IQ etc (as in virtually identical)and should knock the socks off your kit lens.

if not havent a clue, is it ef fitting?
