Would be enough for messing around with. One of my family members want's a couple of photos done so thought it would be a nice time to play around with the world of off camera flash seeing as the nights are getting colder.

Hi, have just dug out my YN-460 II to see if it fires with my cheapo triggers and it does. It is a basic manual only flash so even when mounted on the camera it is manual only. For off camera this is perfect of course, just letting you know.

I would whack it on an umbrella bracket and fire it through a brolly for the best results.

Dont know of the JJC triggers but i recommend the rf-602's available on e-bay. They are very well made for the money and never miss a beat!

Best of luck, it can be a little frustrating at first but stick with it :)

Hi there.

Going ot grab some soft-boxes for the flash should have said.

With regards to the triggers I was going to get the 602's or the 603's but the method to my madness is the JJC is they fit straight on to a light pole so I don't need any more brackets.

And to my knowledge these are re badged Yongnuo triggers anyway just a little older than the others.

Manual only is fine seems to me it will be easier to get my head round the whole TTL has me baffled atm.

.

Those aren't YongNuo, rebadged or otherwise. YN's first 2.4ghz triggers were the RF-602, those are from some other manufacturer. Personally I'd spend the extra wee bit and get a set of the YongNuos....

Oh and the RF-602/603 will fit straight onto a lightstand without an umbrella adapter too, although quite why you'd want to do that (unless it's some misguided desire to save a few quid) is beyond me.

If you really want to do it on a budget an umbrella adaptor and a shoot through brolly only costs about £20. You need the adaptor to be able to andjust the angle of the light relative to your subject. An umbrella is also much easier to transport if you want to take it outside for location shoots!
