more 1DMKIII Problems :(

My question is...does it work now?

well the lens locks into place.. gonna test everything else later this morning and I ahve a match to cover tonight so will know a heck of a lot more after that.

Pure curiosity, but if its been recalibrated will that affect your lenses if you have calibrated them to the camera, or am I confuzzled as I don't have cameras that will adjust to the lens!

Hope its fixed properly this time.

Well I sent it monday 9th 22 quid for next day delivery... elstree say they got it wed... on monday this week they tell me its on its way back.. I finally got it this morning thursday ...sigh

considering its been back twice before and all it said was calibrated and tested (calibration never been right after they set it) This time theres more on the worksheet

cleaned lens release pin

recalibrated checked and tested to standard (haha heard that before)

adjustment to af system standard fault related redo, (<6m PVO, <3m OPP)

washer (x32-5021 -220) washer cop

hmmm.. its the standard redo i am more worried about.. this is the blue dot 6mth old version..its supposed to be fully fixed no problem straight from canon.. blue dot on box.. i am a bit suprised blue dot versions need a standard redo ? anyone?

Well, just be happy that something is done to it :) - Lets hope you get it to work tonight at the game.
And perhaps you had changed some of the settings so they changed them to the standard..
I am sure you'll be letting us all know how it works tonight.. and we shall be looking forward to hearing about it.

susie.. yes and no.. the calibration for the lenses is done in camera so easy to change... they calibrated it last time and all my lenses still needed to be set and all at the same point so was stil the camera

googa.. first thing i checked wass mys ettings and there all the same

just put the 70-200 and took a few distance shots of people and its loking good at 2.8 and f4 ... it was only when i got this lens i found the lock problem so wasnt able to try it.. the real test will be the 300 which is coming up next :)

Glad to hear it seems ok so far Kipax! :D

Kipax.... c'mon , c'mon ... how you doing with the 300? (sorry, sound like Basil Brush but this is all in real time!)

This is on high burst mode... anyone know why the difference? 100% crop and nothing done

If it was on servo and one AF spot, don't forget you have continuous AF all the time and that AF spot only has to move to an area with no detail for the lens not to be able to attain focus. Very easily done with a moving subject
.
You really need to look at the full frame file and accurately mark the centre of each shot to show where the AF spot was.

It could be she's just moving quicker in the second shot. The bg looks pretty much the same. What was the shutter speed?

Did you have IS switched on? I've seen similar results when the IS was out of sync with the shake at the time. It certainly has a hint of directional blur rather than OOF.

nagh never use is as a rule...

did a game tonight and hmm hard to tell.. i was having to shoot at 200-250 shutter with a 300 lens so it was never going to be a big keeper rate.. rugby friday night in better lighting but i guess i will know more over the weekend in real sat afternoon footy conditions :)

I'd also guess it could be the AF point just having moved..
But still, shooting at high burst speed at a walking person - she has to move rather fast.

How's the camera otherwise.. lens attaching OK and also coming off (or are you not taking it off anymore ;) ).
